My order hasn't been canceled yet. Seems like some people got the email already and others are still waiting. I wonder, if they DO somehow in some way fail to cancel all the orders, would the SKU change still protect dell from shipping these out?

I don't have any more hope in getting a rio anymore but I was just thinking about what would happen if they don't cancel the orders 😛

By Texas' state law and the FTC's law, Bait and Switch after the order is confirmed at 77.95 and then charged with a price of 360 after the email confirming that there was a mistake in the ordering process and the bill is being corrected is ILLEGAL. Look, my initial post regarding their charge process was purely constructive, you're the one pulling it out of context, and you did so in an insulting manner. Are there exceptions to the rule? Of course, anyone knows that. If you're looking for sympathy then shooting your mouth off to people like this is just plain ignorant.

I suspect there's a part to your story that you're not revealing, but even if there's not, no big deal. Any person of reasonable wit knew this was a pricing mistake and accepted the risks of ordering, including your particular outcome. Take your diaper off and deal with it like the adult you'll one day become.

iwearnosox: that actually isn't a legal outcome. The legal outcomes were a) the product is delivered at $77.95, or b) order is cancelled.

That is it. No room at all to automatically charge a higher price without getting express written consent by the puchaser.
Nowhere did I argue that the outcome was appropriate.

sorry about that. I made a typo 🙂 And I will admit it. "assue" should be "assume". I just looked for the first person who's profile said in CA and had posted that the order was cancelled. I'm in NJ, so they are probably being cancelling in order of recieved (or reverse order), or in order recieved by state, in conjunction with multiple states being concurrently cancelled at the same time.
 
I ordered right at the beginning (about after less than 10 posts-around 3 eastern time). I didn't get an e-mail cancel yet but it is cancelled on the accounts page.
 
My co-worker ordered about half an hour later than I did (we are both in CA) and he has received his cancellation email but I still haven't. So they are probably going in reverse order.
 
Can someone explain how $77.95 is in anyway a typo from$360.00.......I don't see how this justifies a Typo errorclaimed by Dell,there is not one charector represented on either side the same?

Inputting the wrong characters no matter how many are a mistake is still a mistake.
 
For some reason, DE!! has been making a lot of pricing mistakes these days. Which they try explain away by pointing out to a stupid disclaimer on their site. I don't understand how they are not responsible for their own mistakes but that is besides the point. They have definitely lost a lot of good will and it is definitely going to affect their bottom line somewhere down the line.

But to all the DE!! Lovers here, who keep bitching about people whinning etc., how do YOU justify price mistakes happening so often? And the Sr. Members here who keep touting their number of posts and slamming the noobs, you need to get off your high horse and get real. Does the number of posts against your names massage your ego that much?

I understand what you are saying, but as a consumer I would like to here a more detailed explaination from Dell on to as how this even came to be a Price FLOP instead of a Price error!
A Price error is or should be a key stroke error a Data entry error.......There is no way $77.95 was a projected target of profit on this item as being New at that,From a Buyer for Dell or a Rio Rep to Dell....Were did this magical Price come from?This was not a Typo from a Data Entry person on a Rushed schedule
