*dead* Wharfedale Diamond 8.1 Speakers $105 shipped

I know wharfdales are nice
since i am a wannabe audiophile

however
i have no idea
how nice these are

can you gimme something to compare it against?
would these make a good addition to a home theatre system
or are they better for music?

For $110 shipped, I really don't think you can go wrong with it. Other stores are selling them for at least $250.
Even if they don't sound as good as you hope for, you should be able to resell them for a hefty profit.
I remember seeing them in Audiogon go for at least $150 + shipping.

It's Wharfedale Diamond 8 series, .2 is the revised version. That's how I interpret it.
When you add the speakers in the cart, it will be 104.99, + 5 handling fee = $110 shipped.

Jumped in. Unfortunately I had to pay sales tax, so to TN it was $120 shipped using UPS ground (as UncleWai had it).

I have the 7.2's in my bedroom system. They are a nice little speaker, certainly for the money. Although, I wouldn't call them very high-end. I wish I could find a review comparing the 2. The 8.2 has the kevlar woofer, but does it actually sound better?

Depending on your use, I might suggest the 7.2 at about $79.00, or if these were to be your main speakers, I would rather suggest the 8.3, and a seperate sub.

Great find on the price though!

I've only dealt with ecost once, but it shipped quickly and the product was fine. I think the handling fee is kind of BS though...but when combined with free shipping it turns out ok.

update:
I got the speakers finally. They are brand new and sound great.
$99 + $5 handling right now, an absolute steal, I mean robbery.

Just an FYI. I just clicked on the links above and these now are selling at $99.99 with free shipping on orders over $25.00. Both styles in stock.

I get the same feeling. I ony dealt with them once (and I had no problems) before but there were some people who had problems with them (the Kenwood 6050 deal where some had problems and ecost tried to tell them they were screwed after offering the unit with a 90 day warranty).

actually, I just ordered from them again yesterday (wharfedale wh-2 surrounds). and the shipping slip on my Kenwood says that all expressed or implied warranties are not valid!
