Very nice price I have to say. I don't need it so I thought to post it here, so I can live vicariously through someone :)

Nice price, but keep in mind that it is in no way, shape or form a TV - it is a "monitor." It has no NTSC or ATSC tuner, just a bunch of video inputs. So, you'd need to use it with a VCR, a cable box, a DVR, a satellite receiver or a computer to receive any sort of television on it.

That said, the last time I used an actual "tuner" on one of my TV's was 4 years ago. Thank you ReplayTV and, later, Dish network :)

Very true, but imho if it had a tuner, you'd be paying a higher MSRP.

I bit the bullet. I ordered one, free shipping. I will return my 37" Sceptre at Costco and get back almost $2k (they refund shipping). I feel bad for Costco but their policy is 100% satified and retrun for any reason within 3 years. Since I had all 3 HD inputs filled and the PS3 on the way I was going to be in a bind, but the Westy has 6 HD inputs and is 42". For the $180 or so dollars more it was well worth it.

Holy crap, that is HOT.
I'm having a hard time keeping my CC in my wallet....but I will force myself to wait for CableCARD tuner cards for Vista before I buy a new TV. :|

OMG... it would make a great computer monitor too, since modern video cards have no problems outputting 1920x1080 resolution, and it will accept 1920x1080 natively. So there's no scaling and text looks perfectly sharp.

I'm soooooo tempted.

How are the black levels on this TV? I'm considering getting the 37" 1080p Aquos when stores have it in stock later in the month, but it's twice the price of this.

tempting... as cheap as this stuff is getting it makes me wonder if I should just hold on for a 47" which should be out soon. That or a 50" plasma.

Thanks OP, got one.

The extended warranty is only $159 now
I got the Rewards Card for $10, with 55 in gift cards (so the sales guy said)
With tax $1785
I thought black levels were ok with backlight set down from 100, but since my old analog TV was crap, I will be happy.

I got the extended warranty because some of these 42" W2 sets had vertical banding and "lockup" problems.

The demo at BB had the "old" 1.1 firmware, and I saw no banding, and the "lockup" problems might be related to line power dips, so a wall outlet not on the same circuit as the refrig, etc, or 6 other things plugged into it, and running may not be a problem.
I think there is a newer firmware version out there, but not sure.

Can this one handle 1080p at 60Hz? Some of the 1080p monitors can only handle 1080p at 30Hz or 1080i at 60Hz.

I have this TV and it is amazing. I am kind of kicking myself because I got mine for more than $2000 and couple of months ago. This is not a TV but a monitor, but most people have cable and just use the cable box or VCR or whatever. Just a great buy!!!!!

MOther of GOD. I just hooked up this baby to my lappy. Source at 42 inches never looked so pretty.

Also just so everyone knows... The set I have happened to be 1.16. Over at AVSforum, They're saying that this is fully upgradable to 1.18 which should help with the locking/banding issue.
