Just checked on Dell.com. I order a retail drive on 10/12 from SoCal. Yesterday status still "in production." Today status is "shipped." Dell apparently is starting to come through with 10/12 orders!

UPS tracking shows delivery scheduled for Nov. 7, shipping from Memphis, TN. (shipping from Memphis as of 1:56a.m. this morning)

Wow! Just checked and my retail drive has shipped...even logged into UPS and shows an ETA of 11/4. I ordered on Sat. 10/12 around 2:00pm EST so Dell is really starting to clear out the orders.

I also got in on the $75 AMD 2000xp+ deal from Outpost, too. A little patience can pay real rewards.

However, as a confessed upgradaholic, this forum continues to be my downfall!!!😀

Ok, I'll give this another shot. For those of us that got both a retail and an OEM drive, do you think we'll be eligible for both rebates? It looks to me like we should be able to since they are techincally different products (different SKU's anyway, I think) and different rebate forms. I'd just like some advice from some rebate veterans because if there's reason to think I won't get both, I'll probably refuse delivery on one of the two. Thanks.

My credit card was not charged until the day after it shipped. So, never fear, Dell will get their money.

Given what you said and that the rebates are being processed by different companies (I assume given the different addresses), I think you would qualify for both. If I had any faith in the CSR's at Dell, I would suggest calling them, but...

Didn't someone say that all Dell deliveries require a signature? Mine just got dropped off on my front porch, which is too bad, since I'm out of town till tomorrow night. Am I screwed if it gets stolen?

That is interesting because last time I wanted something dropped off UPS refused to do it beacause supposedly Dell requires a signature on delivery.

If Dell really required a signature and UPS simply dropped it off I would think it is on UPS. Are you sure that none of your neighbors signed for it?

I just checked mine now shows Shipped. I ordered early 10/12/2002 shows about 2am. Just abit earlier than New Years eve as Dell promised. Now it's upgrade time need to find some good deals on memory and cpu's

It is the silver and yellow label that says 120GB. There is a micro-picture of what they are looking for on the rebate form.

Unbelievable but my retail drive is SHIPPED! It's UPS and I'll get it on Monday!! 😀 Dell came through once again, and this is a nice surprise - I was fully prepared to wait for that December 31 B/O date... 😉
