So i check my inbox this morning and what should i find.... confirmation that my drive has shipped? No, its a survey asking me to rate Dell's customer support. Hmm, let's see. My drive still hasn't shipped, I had to track down the rebate myself. Where are the negative numbers on this form? :|

to send in your rebate just send in your acknowledgement along with the packing slip.
The acknowledgement comes seperately whcih i got today, it had your order date, ship date, etc.
Everything u ever want to know about your order :D

$100 OEM REBATE

There is a new rebate on the Dell Sm. Business Rebate Page (At the bottom under software and peripherals.)

Print it now before it disappears!

Apparently they have now arranged for a WD rebate instead of an instant credit for OEM drive purchasers.

Sorry if this ahs already been covered...

Did anybody else see the small print . . . limit FIVE per customer. I should've ordered 4 more!!! (= oh well.

It CAME!#$ ITS BIG! ITS SEXY!#$ ... I ordered mine on the 12th and received on the 28th. I called and thanked my Dell rep and he said they were backordered to "kingdom come." Seems like they are diligently following through on orders though. I did call them several times prior to getting my tracking number. I would keep checking until the shipping time oversteps the rebate postmark date and then opt to cancel your order. Even in that case though, Dell assured me that if you receive a TOO LATE BUDDY card from Western Digital, they would honor the rebate and give you a credit toward whatever method of payment you used to purchase the drive. Please confirm this if you intend to rely on it though, as I was just told this by a CSR.

btw- has anybody seen the rebate form for the OEM model at Dell Home? I realized the one posted above is only for Dell SB.

I called and thanked my Dell rep............
You are funny. While we all called and bitched them, you called and being oh hold or being transfers for 20+ times to get to the sales rep thanked him?! Dell lied to us by exaggerating the delay time in order to get the impatient customers cancelled their orders. Once the Halloween is over, Dell's treats or tricks game is over as well, and they started shipping the drives.

I really wish smithar and ancora would take their petty flaming private, it is at best childish and really unasked for. This thread is about a deal on the WD drives sold thru Dell.com and not some kindergarten playground.

And I am just waiting for that "yeah, I posted # 1000!" and then right after it: "no it was me!"

I am as of today still waiting to get an update on my drive. I have no clue when I can expect it, other than that vague date given by Dell. I ordered on 10/11/02 and nothing yet. It appears that they ship the drives at random at best. Or maybe they go alphabetically, lol, good luck to me then, ZURxxx hmmm... guess that would be all the way at the end of the list.

Anyone got any idea what the majority still waiting for the drives can expect? I do believe that Dell is working hard to get those drives shipped, regardless of what some people here are saying, but that is just mho.

Nothing has changed on my order, but I did receive a "sorry we screwed this up" letter from Dell regarding my complaint to the BBB. They said they are expediting my order. However, people here are getting their drives and mine is still on the back burner showing 1-10-2003 as a delivery date.

We'll see what "expedite" really means to Dell I guess.

Since they are now issuing an actual rebate form for the OEM version of the drive, does that make it separate rebate? I ordered an OEM drive and a retail drive, and they have both now shipped. I'm wondering if I am eligible to get a $100 rebate on each since they are technically different products. Anyone know?

Hmmm... first you were whining, and now you are whining again and you wonder why YOUR drive is taking longer?

I would think at this point you would consider yourself lucky that they don't cancel your order and say your are SOL.

If it were my business and I was making good and eating the cost and had a customer like you who had already filed a complaint, still wanted the rebate and still continued belly aching----- you would get the absolute LAST drive available.

look if a hot deal isnt going through, its too good to be true , not i'll make it come true.

NorCalSci - or anyone else who had it earlier - thank you for the rebate link! I started at the end of this thread and worked backwards ( http://www.dell.com/downloads/us/bsd/bsd_rebate_westerndigital_021029.pdf for anyone wanting the OEM drive rebate...)

I got my OEM drive today! Wierd episode leading up to it, but once again, as usual, Dell came through for me. Looks like I have the rebate form here as well, and should be happy really soon!

Good luck to all else, and - this place ROCKS!

Mine doesn't say "in production" it says something about being delayed and trying to fill order.
Still shows the original "estimated ship date 10-16-2002".

Dells order tracking is such a pain in the a@#. Maybe it is different for other people. I am willing to wait till the drive comes, November or December, I don't really care, it will still be a hot deal and I appreciate what they do.

Knock it off you two... All that is going to happen from your petty bickering is to have the mods lock this thread.

Take it to PM.

But then the thread would only be as half as long as it now without those too:Q

Ordered 10/12 around noon Eastern time, still in production. Hopefully it'll ship next week or so.
