Having multiple ways to submit the rebate does not mean that you ARE going to get 2 rebates.
True. But on the other hand, Dell stating that the price is "$246.95
+ Up to $200.00 in mail-in rebates" is IMO misleading and flirting with fraudulence. To hell with Dell.

if there was any chance of this happening, it sure won't now with all the idiots who called and warned them about it.

OOPS
I just spoke with Western Digital rebate Center and they confirmed that a $100 rebate is on the WD2000JB AND that it is the RTL retail package.
Also, they stated that Dell had double posted the rebate (actually they're different) and acknowledged that Dell had incorrectly stated that there was up to $200 in rebates.
Mine is confirmed at $187.98 shipped
$87 is still a good deal with the 8MB cache!

How did you get it to ~$188??? hope it wasn't by ordering the wrong drive
the correct drive for the rebate was priced around $222 after the 10% off...there was another wd 200gb drive that was for $187.16 on dell's site but that isn't covered by the rebate (the part # is WD2000JB for the $187.16 drive currently listed at dell and if you look at the rebate only the WD2000JBRTL is valid)

as long as you don't open it, i think it's ok (unless you buy from SB division?)
from dell's page:
"Unopened Merchandise
Any merchandise for which the original manufacturer's packaging (including any shrink-wrapped or otherwise sealed package containing disks or diskettes for software) is unopened may be returned to Dell, only if accompanied by a Credit Return Authorization Number (CRA), within 30 days of invoice date for a refund of the purchase price, excluding original shipping charges.
