I called buy.com (btw, I didn't find their number on their site - had to google for it: 1-800-800-0800). The CSR pulled up my order and confirmed that the amount on the order record was $303.36 which he said is what would be billed.

He had no idea why the email didn't reflect this amount, and, of course, had no idea when the cards would be in stock.

Thanks, I got the same results. Also got another email that says they are still searching for the cards. Yeah, did they look under that rock? Maybe they need a flash light to find the cards stacked up in the back.

Sigh...

Hmm... I don't see any email from them other than the 2 duplicate order details they sent me. Maybe I won't get it after all.

At this rate, BB will have them in-house before buy.com ships.

Disregarding the price difference, how do you think these card will stack up against each other?

BFG 6800 GT OC versus PNY 6800 GT?

PS.
I know the BFG comes overclocked, but the PNY can probably match it.

Hey look! These guys somehow got their hands on one.

PNY 6800 GT Review

FuturePowerPC.com has an ETA of July 30! Bummer!

I think I'll call pny and harass them later. Might as well carry my obsession to its logical extreme:

Well, I know for a fact (i've had one in my hands) that CompUSA has these things sitting on store shelves. I don't know what the hold up is, but it's likely Buy.com just hasn't gotten their first order from PNY yet.

Anywho, all of the cards are being manufactured together right now so its all luck of the draw as far as how far they'll overclock. As you said, the BFG is OC'd by default so, at default, will obviously perform better but they're all hitting around the same celling as far as overclocking.

Plan to hit 6800u speeds of 400/1100

Hope for 410/1150

Pray for 420/1200

I haven't seen anything run stable higher than that. I've also seen people with water cooling on these and it seems that the lack of a 2nd molex is what is holding them back from higher overclocks, not the heat.

I got the email two days ago, saying that they're "still working on it". I'm not worried yet.

As said before, just remember all these cards are made by nvidia themselves... so there is no difference in a pny gt card and any other gt card hardware wise.

Get this email yet?

We would also like to let you know that unfortunately, due to a setback
from the manufacturer, item 10376099 on your order is currently
on backorder....
Unfortunately, we do not have an estimated time of arrival.

Cancelled - this is ridiculous. I'll just hang with my 5900 at 450/950 until some "real" deals happen.

I bought a EVGA model for a customer, it is good but not much better than my current 9800Pro for real life applications. I say save the hunred to two hundred doallrs and buy a 9800Pro. Cancelling my order today.

I don't know what the complaints are about, if it was reg $399 price i could see being anoyed at a wait, but for $329 ill wait a month if need be.

Will be about 4 weeks before i have the cash to pay for this thing anyway lol

I'm guessing that, since we didn't get that email, we're in on the first batch due in. I wouldn't think of cancelling unless I found one in stock for <$400 with tax.

I just got my BFG 6800 GT from outpost.com

I was doing the overnight thing with the PNY, which brought it to $349

I paid an extra 60, and had it overnight and delivered on Saturday from
Outpost instead :)

This card is AWESOME !

still waiting. i'll be canceling if the 26th roles around and I don't have a tracking number. (well I will first call to get as much info as possible before i cancel).

then i'll be scrambling for any sort of deal. eVGA.com is out of stock now so there goes my backup plan.

After looking at PNY's site, as well as a couple of retailers who have them backordered, it looks like we can expect shipment on the 29th or 30th.

I did not either, I went to cancel the order and found that it had already shipped. In fact I have never gotten any word from Buy.com on the entire ordering process.

But they bumped the price to over $400 now.
