Your store could get in major trouble with the people putting the game out early being fired. Companies are extremely strict on this type of thing. Most of the time the game/dvd/movie should not even ring up correctly because it is not the release date yet, there is a message that says "do not sell."

Anyways, war3 is nice, not that much different than war2 tho. Single player is a little short and multiplayer is fun. Definitely worth the money.
:Q The single player is a little short :Q :Q :Q :Q Maybe on easy (or maybe i just suck) but i have been playing this for the past week and a half or so on hard and i must say it is hardly short. But the missions are fun and i think im on the last campaign (the one with those female forest elves, forgot what they are called).

Yes, i know it has been available, as a matter of fact, I know where to get it easily. But I want Blizzard to be rewarded for their hard work, and I dont want to be asses like yourselves

Went to Fairbault, MN Walmart wasn't out but my wife (who works there) did take me in the back and showed me the display where they were and I was gonna buy it but there was a big sign "DO NOT SELL UNTIL JULY 3" I pleaded begged and offered to let her use my body as an amusement park but she wouldn't let me take it to the front stating "I could get in trouble" and "You spend enough time on the computer as it is" so no dice for me.:(

There should be a sticky that says for some of these ppl NOT to "BRAG ABOUT j00 PIRATED Sh!T". Just makes you seem stupid and draws unncessary attention to the subject.

WHAT?!?!? you think your the ONLY one that gets them or something?

I just got back from BJ and Costco, and they have Warcraft III for sale. The price is $54.99 -- expensive.
I'm going to check it out at Walmart tomorrow.

Otaking: Well I get a 10% discount because I am employed at wally world. So I payed a little over 50 plus tax.
There was no collectors edition there just the basic 4 box designs and also the action figures. They were all built into the same display. The games on two sides with the big orc on the front and the figures on the other side(only three sides, you can combine two to make a bigger display) The figures were i believe $9.97

CKDragon: I somehow knew that was coming! Its all good. Basically I left my job of 5 years at a magazine printer (worked on image correction and layout) to basically find another career more creative basically. Walmart is only a way to get out ot the house and it worked for me to go for another year of schooling (they worked around my schedule the last two months (im a newb)). So I am actualy not intending to be there long... anyone out their looking for a prepress graphics employee?

I really dont think that the store will have many problems. They claimed they only had to follow that date on music and movies and games are totally a different thing. Although blizzard said july 3rd the manager claimed that he could display it whenever it came in. Fines only apply to movies and music.

That's simply wrong. Blizzard has put a 1 million(!!) dollar fine on selling Warcraft 3 early.

AndyTriboletti: I highly dought it would be one million because they only get fined 10 grand for releaseing a movie or music early. That number came from my maneger. Who is going to enforce a fine from blizzard anyway? I can see music and stuff because of the RIAA. I didnt ask who issues the fine though.... didnt really care.

Yes, all the walmarts I deliver to (a few each in MN, and *all* surrounding states) have it in the back room.

As for the fine thing. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

yeah. Right.

What's blizzard going to do? Say "walmart can't our new game next time if they don't pay us $1MM"? Snowballs in hell anyone? Blizz needs walmart far more than walmart needs blizz.

Playing the campaigns is decent entertainment, the first time around--kinda easy (on normal mode), finished it in 3 days (1 day/campaign).

The post-human campaign movie is well done (Death Knight walking into throne room) but the later ones are not nearly as good.

Multiplayerwise, expect MAJOR lag when there are too many units on the map.

No more 4v4 or even 3v3 battles, even though the game supports 6v6--it is unrealistic--it will play like 1 fps. You can test this simply by playing vs multiple computers in single player mode.

You might get decent 2v2 gameplay, if everyone is using a fast 1 GHz+ processor on broadband and if one team attacks early before both teams max out on fighting units (realistically about 25-35 units per team). So, expect teams to quickly gang up early and kill players just to keep the game less laggy. So much for the no rush element mentality. As you will see, this is much disappointment when compared to the fast paced, multi-allies gameplay of Starcraft/Broodwar which is arguably the best RTS.

3D units for an RTS was a major error. The whole concept of RTS requires the ability to see the majority of your troops and to quickly control of units from a top down perspective, making 3D engine unnecessary. This ain't a first person shooter for crying out loud. Also, the 3D character actors look blocky and ridiculous when compared with the CG movies.

Without decent multiplayer speed, you gotta ask yourself, is a single player game worth $59? After finishing it, I have to say not quite.

Boycott Blizzard for jacking up the price to rip off parents of spoiled kids who are brainwashed into buying the latest games (or college kids who recklessly spend their parents money). Boycott Blizzard for making a inferior (laggy, sluggy) multiplayer RTS. But most importantly, boycott Blizzard for using DMCA.

Get the iso. No need to support a corporation that abuses it's customers and net denizens with oppressive laws, such as DMCA.

If you kids don't know what DMCA is doing to your rights, then you need to educate yourselves before you find yourself and the internet mucked up by f***ed up laws and monopolized by the software/motion picture/music industry. These industries are trying to control and limit your content so they can earn an extra quarter off every buck they get from you. And all you get is a second rate product. Don't think for a minute that these industries and corporations are your friends.

Hmmm..... so much anger.
Anyway, I love this game & will buy it (my own money) when it's available at my local stores.
