Don't worry if your order has been stuck in "Boxing" for multiple days.

I ordered a laptop on two weeks ago (March 31). With ground shipping, I had an estimated ship date of April 8. It went through Kitting, Building, and Testing real quick. When it was stuck in Boxing, I also wondered why is that step taking so long. The order status finally showed that the order was in the shipping stage on April 7. With ground shipping, I expected the laptop to arrive around the middle of the following week. To my surprise, it actually ARRIVED at my house on April 8.

Somehow, for the time being, when the order status page says Boxing, what they really mean is Boxing + Shipping.

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but I'm just letting you know what happened to me.

This is driving me nuts. Mine has been in testing for the past 2 days, and when I looked today, everything below "Production" is grayed out!

Same with mine, I was waiting for it to be boxed and shipped out. Instead they've bumped it back to pre-production, and moved my ship date from 4-25 to 5-5. If I didn't have such a good deal I would be extrememly pissed.

Didn't check the date, but same with mine!

13th - production
15th - boxing
21st - estimated for shipping.. but i estimate it'll be tomorrow, or monday... and since i live in austin... ill get it monday at the latest 🙂

Mine is back to testing.

I guess their system had a snafu.

Reading Dell's documentation, it sounds like "Testing" basically means installing software.

Must be because the exact thing just happened to mine.

Mine is boxing finally ... 9300 w/ normal screen, 40gb/512/1.6, so no crazy options.
Says ship date is april 28th or something though.

I order about 30-40 dells a year and their shipping/delivery estimate is 95% of the time WAAAY conservative. Sometimes mine arrive even before I get a shipping confirmation e-mail.

It is not uncommon for an order to sit in boxing for 5 days or more...I have one in boxing since Monday.

boxing period is probably when they ship the laptops from shanghai to here..

Alive! A new deal in Dell Small Business!!!

Use coupon code: 974VLC7M85DN3H for $700 off a $1699+ Inspiron Laptop, excluding outrageous deal notebooks and Inspiron 2200.

Limit: 1000 uses!

It turned out that the notebook I was configuring for the $750 off $1499+ deal was going to be over $1699 anyways, so I snagged it. 2nd chance for those of you who are willing to spend $1000!
