I got my 6000D today.
Now I need some help, PLEASE.
If I format my drive and install my XPPro on it where will I get the drivers etc for it.
Also there are a few things that are pre installed that I would like to have, will I be able to just install what I want with the CD's that came with it?
Thanks in advance
Ken
Just use the utility CD that dell has provided for you if any drivers are not picked up by WinXP.
As for the pre installed software, it should be all in the CDs that dell provides for you. I can't want to get my i9300. It shipped today and should be at my place tomorrow. Not bad for ground shipping
Um, nope.

I've been playing with my 6000 for the past 2 hours. The 6000
DOES NOT INCLUDE PROGRAM, DRIVER, UTILITY, OR OPERATING SYSTEM CD'S!!!!!!!! :|
If you dig through all your crap, you'll see a little blue piece of paper that states:
Your new computer does not require an operating system CD or drivers CDs. Instead, if you ever need to reinstall your software, use one of the following methods
Every other Dell I've used over the past 2 years (for work, personal) includes them. Hell at work we have a box full of those OS/driver CD's. You can supposedly make a backup OS CD with some Dell utility which was not on my computer. (Supposedly under Dell Accessories, I looked all over for it)
I just made a copy of the Dell and Drivers folder (and the Program Files folder for the hell of it to test out the DVD burner) - all the drivers you need are under Drivers, labeled pretty well to boot. (They're also available via download at support.dell.com/pcrt)
That's the one thing that pisses me off about this new laptop - otherwise, it's pretty sweet. I kinda regret not getting the WXGA+, but it's a nice screen anyway.

I'm throwing on XP Pro slipstreamed right now, can't wait to get everything on there and Ghost'ed.
