Cool. Ordered one to give to my cousin to upgrade from the nasty integrated flat-panel speakers.

Which means what in English?

Translation:
The only thing that sucks is a 10 year old Sony 5.1 HTIB will decimate this all to heck and cost $20 used on craigslist.

Problem is 5.1 is usually messy to setup. Even if you only use 2.0 you might need to buy stands. And those little cube speakers most HTIB use are pretty pathetic, Sony or otherwise. A sound bar can be placed right on the TV stand and doesn't have a receiver to mess with. It's just a highly convenient way to upgrade from the integrated speakers which are all craptastic. Although most sound bars are probably overpriced, so are most others speakers & sound systems.

htib sucks! i like them not. soundbar is good, easily setup it is. if you have a mansion, by all means, but if you live in a small apartment like the 90% of us, buy the soundbar.

Tempting....

I have a Sony soundbar that I really like but need a second without a sub and this looks like it just may be the ticket.

True. But some people are considerate and have close neighbors to consider so deep and/or thunderous bass is not desirable.

There are other uses for this besides TV's.

MP3 player speakers.

Wide stereo setup for use as computer speakers. (40" wide)

Buy 5......

Run 2 of them in mono(RCA Y adapters) and stand 2 of them vertically as front speakers and run a 3rd horizontal as the center. 2 leftover are for rear surrounds. Add a powered sub and good to go. That is if you have a 5.1 RCA output reciever.

Awesome deal but I'm looking for a soundbar with a subwoofer unfortunately :/ I currently have a 5.1 setup and I want to move the 5.1 setup to my tv in my basement (turning it into a cheap movie theater) so I'll need something for my TV.

I got this. My basement TV has a slight hum when I'm watching cartoons. This solved it and sounds very good.

Can this be attached to a TV by any chance? I've got wall mounted 32" LCD in my bedroom which could use this.

No, but it too can be wall mounted by reversing the stands. It also has a sub pre-out so you can attach any powered sub to it.

sure you can, custom... i mounted my yamaha ysp soundbar to the top of my mitsu with heavy duty velcro... with cushy heavyduty 2 sided tape there was no buzz or anything even at high levels...
