Hey, it looks like this drive is back in stock now. Still should be about $150ish after coupons. Sorely tempted...maybe I'll wait for them to drop another $50...

Did anyone else get their rebate for this? I bought it, submitted my rebate form with all the upc codes and receipts, and I just received notice that it was invalid - they're claiming I included the UPC for a 52X24X52 CDRW - NOT the DVD+RW drive that I cut the UPC symbols off the side of.

Am I the only one getting this BS from them? rebateshq.com doesn't include ANY contact information for complaining, and I've learned that sending letters tends to ensure things get lost and never handled. Additionally, they're saying the rebate amount will only be for $30 - NOT the $40 on the rebate form and noted by everyone here.

I got the same thing. I just called they up (866-225-9286) and told they that my rebate was for the DVD+RW drive not the 48X CDRW drive, they ask me if I saved a copy of UPC code and I give they the UPC code (8-21582-00008-6) for the DVD+RW drive and they approved the $40 rebate.

Well, it got even worse dealing with them before it got better.

When I first received the e-mail that my rebate was being denied, the reason that accompanied it was that I supplied the UPC from a CD-RW, not the DVD drive. I responded and told them they were incorrect, that i didn't own their cd-rw, and would happily take a photo of the box I cut the upc out of so they could match the upc i sent them like a puzzle piece. I heard absolutely nothing for the next two weeks, so after seeing that MysticMan1 had the same trouble with them, I checked on the status.

Now they claimed I had not sent the rebate forms in on time. I called, spoke with a woman with a thick mexican accent who barely tried to argue with me when i stated my case, and approved the rebate.

I've dealt with Rebateshq.com only once before, and it was just as big of a pain in the a55 then as it was this time. Is this just their business model? To offer rebates, deny them all outright, and only grant them once the buyer complains? I swear that these guys seem SO shady, I seriously doubt I'll take advantage of any rebate that involves dealing with them.

I just got the same excuse about it being postmarked late, good to know that when I call them tomarrow chances are it'll be approved.
