DEAD - USB TV Tuner - $14.99 shipped @ the egg !

Great deal. Ordered one.

(The USB extension cable that comes with it sell for this price or more alone.)

*** You can not view analog signals with it ****

It is only ATSC (HDTV) tuner. This does not have NTSC. So you can't hook up your analog tv cable or analog anntenna to it.

Thats cool with me. HDTV looks loads better anyways. I guess if you had a monitor though that couldn't display 1920x1200, then it might not be worth it.

I'm pretty sure most antennas would work. The antenna on my roof is a basic radio shack model that picks up both analog NTSC and digital HDTV.

Yea they do. Regular antennas can receive both NTSC and ATSC channels. The difference though is the encoder. Obviously normal VCRS and stuff can't decide ATSC frequencies. I had a different ATSC USB tuner, and it was able to use a normal antenna just fine for picking up ATSC broadcasts.

Good thing I picked one up right away..Newegg now lists it as a Deactivated item -- looks like this deal was too hot to handle. Hopefully it'll still ship out and get here by the weekend. I was planning on picking up a tuner for $30 or $60 on Black Friday anyway, so thanks a bunch OP.

A friend and I got one. Don't think you'll find an ATSC tuner for this cheap anytime soon. Maybe in 2009 when SD/NTSC broadcasts go dark. :3
