Anyone ever do a Trendnet rebate? it doesn't state in the PDF "limit one per household". Can you do two?

Simple question: A switch like this is simply to provide hardware access to multiple PCs off of 1 drop, right?

Caveman, yes, it lets you use multiple pcs off of one drop.

I did a trendnet rebate a year ago for their 5 port version of this, but only had one so I'm not sure. At this price, it's worth a shot for two ch33zw1z.

Thanks OP, in for one!

"Limit (1) one rebate per product per address, except where prohibited by law."

In for 1 with 10% bing.
One of the reviewers said that the 5 port switch had larger jumbo frames. Anyone think that will make a difference?

It's not going to matter. According to the specs it will support 9612 byte frames, so I don't understand what the review is complaining about given that the de-facto standard jumbo MTU is 9000 bytes.

By the way, this won't matter to you at all unless you have explicitly configured the devices on your home network to use jumbo frames.

I have one and it works fine, and only uses 1 watt of power according to my kill-a-watt.
It really is a green switch.

Just picked up one as well. Finally, I'll be able to transfer files between my pc and WHS at gigabit speeds.

I missed this the last time it went on sale (or was it the 5 port version?) and regretted it every since.

In for one, thanks OP.

Ha, almost got busted on this, that rebate is valid for a long-ass time. I already used it for the switch I bought back in October. However I am in for the 5-port, thanks OP.

I have had the non-green version of this unit for about a year. No issues at all. Can transfer a 4GB file across the house in just under 4 minutes over Cat5e cables about a 50' run. (Vista to XP machines)

I do not get it. Does this mean that the router feeds only 1 port on the switch which leaves you 7 for ea computer or to add another switch or something else?

Basically dsl modem/router, feeds wireless or other components that do not need gigabit; saving 1 port to feed the switch, leaving 7 for computers/components?

I think i might have to get one of these if they are definately worth the money.
