DEAD: Toro 1800 Snow blower $127 Shipped

You get what you pay for with this. My best friend across the street has an electric one, and I have a Honda gas-powered one. We live in Cleveland and got a foot of snow dumped on us last week. It took him THREE HOURS to plow his driveway with his electric (also a Toro). We have exactly the same size driveways, and it took me 30 minutes.

So with an MSRP of $329.99.. I grabbed 1 up. Now this is not condusive to my computer upgrade Im trying to work on. Owell, it will save me time shoveling snow so I can spend more time geeking! 😉

Not to be an ass, but I live in Chicago and we got hit by the same storm. I took me less than an hour to shovel the 10" we got - no way could an average size driveway take that long.

As for this blower, I don't think I have EVER seen something so well reviewed on Amazon. I used to have a huge Self -Prop, two stage blower (never mind the fact I worked my way through college as a small engine tech for Sears) and they are great if you ger several feet of snow. But for the average snowfall, I would take this thing. You don't have to worry about it starting every time, I can hang it on the wall in the summer, left it up on the deck, it seems like it has a lot of positives. To each his own I guess.
 
I can see how this might be a good buy for a small drive or an incredible cheap-ass. But anyone with a bad heart or back should consider getting a gas model if you've got a large area to do. I thought I learned my lesson with my electric edger. Damn cords and no power for the tough jobs.
Just think hard about this before you end up regretting it.

True, but I think this sort of thing is good for people who live in low snow areas or want this in addition to a bigger snow blower.
 
These are great for sidewalks, porches, decks etc right around the house. No premix, sparkplugs to mess with. It won't last long though if you try to do more with it than that. Personally I just give my neighbor five bucks to do my drive with his bigass Toro. He gets paid to get away from his insane wife, I drink coffee and we are all happy.
The arrangement was in use today in fact. 🙂
 
How would something like this work if you've got some ice either at the bottom or on top of a few inches of snow? Say 3-4 inches of snow and maybe an inch of ice.

The only thing that would get the ice off would be a two stage for around $600+.
 
SoulAssassin I would say not owning one but owning an $800 blower that it would definately break trying to mulch inch thick ice.

Used to be, but they've probably rescinded it by now. I think it only worked in certain categories anyway.
 
I'm glad I got in before the price hiked... Thanks OP! I'm fairly sure it'll keep the snow off the ground for quite a while too. 🙂
