DEAD TOPIC

Although I didn't like it at first, I will admit a molex on the video card is better than gambling that the motherboard manufacturer enabled the graphics slot to supply the amount of power the specs state it should be able to deliver. I think nVIDIA may have been a little hasty leaving power circuitry off of 7600 (not because they couldn't design the cards to fit the spec, but because you can't trust motherboard makers to adhere to spec).

I'd like to grab that opportunity to thank Asus for EZ-Plug, ruling such problems out :thumbsup: 😀
The PCIe spec is what? 75W IIRC. That's a lot of juice through the board, especially for SLI setups (150W :shocked: )... My 6600GTs already suck 60W each...
 
so let me get this straight, the card whines about not enough power on your friend's Gateway PSU and on your PSU as well? If so, this sucks.........I have a Gateway 300 watt PSU that I was going to use on this card. I'll let you guys know if i experience the same problem.

i heartily agree, the noisy fan and this are the two reasons i didn't buy the bfg 7600 gt thats at compusa this week for $199 out the door
well that and the fact that its $189 on their website too
