I got a 42" 60Hz model off Amazon not quite a year ago. The picture is actually quite nice on it. Motion blur is an issue, but I'm also used to gaming computer monitors (currently on 2D lightboost VG249WQE). Either way, it was a really good deal for the price! It didn't have many features, but I wasn't really looking for features. The build quality is surprisingly nice, and the TV (not screen) looks good.

I've heard that TCL often uses Samsung panels in their TVs. Not sure how accurate that is or which TVs it would apply to if so.

It's now $550 and sold out, but that was a great price. I have a 40" TCL that is almost two years old, and I'm very happy with it. The only problem I had with it was it does not report the correct resolution during handshaking with Windows setup, so it was a lot of work to get it to show anything but "No Signal" with Windows (I ended up using a second monitor to install Windows, and then setting the resolution to a generic 800x600. Then I hooked the PC back up to the TCL and changed the resolution manually to get the full 1920x1080. No problems since then.)

TCL TV's are good and cheap. I have a 32" bought last year and it's running great.
