[DEAD] Super HOT! Ultra X-Connect 500-watt PSUs for $59.99 after MIR!

to make it even a better deal the guys at case-mods charge actual shipping not like other companies. I order a Kingwin Case from them and a box full of round cables/fans ect for only 9 dollars! now that is what I call cheap and at 79.99 without rebate it makes it one of the cheapest place online to order this psu.

It runs hot but I have had no problems with it over a couple months 24/7. Black mirror finish and UV cables are nice looking. I notice no difference with no PFC then my older PSU's that had PFC. I paid about $90 then.

Review: http://www.silentpcreview.com./article193-page1.html

Excerpt from the review:

While the Ultra X-Connect 500W PSU is certainly competent in its ability to deliver power, it doesn't really fit SilentPCReview's [sic] critera for a quiet component. The overall performance of the sample is more than adequate from a power delivery perspective, but leaves much to be desired from an acoustic perspective. Even at low power loads (65-100W), the power supply measured well above 30 dBA/1m in our sound tests.

The efficiency of the unit was fairly good, but far below that of some recent PSUs to pass through our rigorous testing procedure. Active PFC is increasingly seen on higher priced PSUs; its absence here is a bit disappointing.

The modular cabling system is an excellent, well executed feature. We'd love to see more PSUs come with similar implementations to help prevent case clutter and facilitate efficient airflow. It should also be said that with a bit of modding, this PSU could be quite good acoustically -- swapping out the stock fans with Panaflos is a move some quiet-oriented but bling-driven modders might consider. Lastly, if you're looking for looks -- snazzy fan grill, UV-reactive cables, and high-gloss paint finish -- along with high power, then the Ultra X-Connect is certainly worthy of your consideration.
So basically as long as you aren't buying this powersupply for noise reduction, then it seems like a great deal at this price.

Yeah I can vouch the PSU isnt the most quiet psu made... still a good psu all in all but my only compliant is that the cables maybe too long for a mid tower

i'm sure a quiet fan can be put into the psu itself...a great buy none the less, and the rebate is online and have the option of receiving payment via paypal...which is pretty dope

got me one (black), the specs seems to be pretty decent, at least it will be better than my 400w raidmax i bought for 30 bux

Thanks OP. Gonna use the antec p/s from my $4.00 frys case to send in for an addl $30, as mentioned in another forum!

I had one of these and took it back. The thing takes up entirely too much room with its "innovative" but impossible to bend cabling :thumbdown;

You really need a large mid-tower or full-size tower to effective use this PSU's cabling.

If you have the space, it totally rocks.

Both my co-worker and myself have had ours for over a week, rebate already submitted, etc. Try calling them? The email I got indicated they were drop-shipped direct from Ultra.
