Great game.

FYI: even the devs recommend using a gamepad and NOT kb/m. I tried it both ways and while it was playable with kb/m, I found the controller better. EXCEPT for the asteroid shooting part where I couldn't beat it without using the mouse. Controller wasn't fast enough.

I played the game on my Xbox and the gamepad was perfectly fine for everything except the asteroid defense moment. Man, I almost wasted the pad from frustration on that spot. And that was on Normal... Can't imagine higher difficulty levels. When I actually managed to finish that moment, I think I had like 3% HP left or something (with several asteroids almost hitting the ship) ... Good thing the moment automated defenses kicked in, the ship became "invulnerable". I think the last time I was so mad at a game was Skyroads (this one cost me 2 keyboards...) 😀

But the game was amazing. Well worth the money! I enjoyed the setting, story and gameplay very much (with the one exception above).

Play it with a 360 controller.

Very cool game, its survival horror done right for 2008, resident evil 5 was a heap of garbage imo dead space eclipsed it in every area, the highlights for me were:

- Cool monsters and a TON of variety in monsters

- Interesting weapons, you are an engineer not a marine so its not the standard assault rifle shotgun setup etc

- Excellent game mechanics, no wandering around lost just hold down the right analogue stick and a blue line tells you where to go, this dosent make the game any easier or anything it just prevents those boring bits where you are like "where the hell do i go now"

- Good story, its not amazing or anything but its pretty cool and definately had some thought put into it

- Variety of levels and gameplay

- Nice upgrade system with the credits and power nodes.

The whole things just strung together in an excellent way that works, it probably sounds like im trying to sell it or something but i was just so impressed with it, especially as it came from the evil empire EA.
