I surfed the EA forums too much trying to find out if they'd release a PC patch. I still think this is a very lackluster port. The game may be great, but their support for PC gamers absolutely stinks.

And to think I was saving all my credits for nothing. Time to splurge!

I'm loving it so far!
People are complaining about things that they are used to in an FPS.
IT'S NOT A FPS.
The suit functions are quite neat and are done well.
I think it's creepier than Doom3, IMO.
It runs like butter on my system as well (E6750@3.2, 4GB RAM, 8600GTS).
Edit: My pc is hooked up to my HDTV and running at 1920x1080 on medium, with a 360 controller.
Back to playing, already forgetting about going back to Far Cry 2...

It's cool so far (just repaired the tram). I like the dismemberment thing in combat; it's cool seeing the mutants walk when they're missing limbs. The UI is really cool too - keeps you in the game and everything. The OTS perspective is kind of annoying to me since I'm used to first person, but I got over it in a few minutes.

Edit: Oh yeah, and this game is fuckin' creepy. Enemies don't just startle you like in Doom3 - you can hear and see them coming if you're attentive. It's just freaky when one runs at you, screaming all the way and spiked arms flailing, right when you get off an elevator.

Sorry, I'm wrong. The Mil suit is only available in the cleared game, not new ones.

It scares the sh** out of me. Keeping my 5.1 system on medium and I still get shivers even during the day. I find it impossible to play it at night. It's so scary, that I can't play it more then one hour at a time, because it totally stresses me out and my head hurts. What these people have done here with the sound it's simply amazing. Doom3, Fear were scary, but this one redefines creepiness. :)
A game that does this to you , it's just impressive, a masterpiece in the universe of survival horror games.

Just started my game last night. The headbanger was one of the most memorable moments I've come across in all of my gaming.

Oh yeah, ran into that last night. I didn't realize for a minute that I had to press 'E', so I just sat there watching my face get eaten for about 10 seconds. When they attacked in the hallway I just unloaded about 30 pulse rifle shots into one of them.

I'm waiting for it to get dark to play some more. :)
I like how everything is integrated into the suit, so there's no HUD or screens you have to switch to. It's like instead of pausing the game and checking a map or other things, the actual character is checking the map, etc. It's much more immersive.
This game just rattles you. It's more of a suspense thing most of the time, not so much the jumps like Dom3 had. It does have those moments, but I never felt like I was always on guard playing Doom3 like I do with Dead Space.

**POSSIBLE SPOILERS**

Other than the guy banging his head against the wall making me think something huge was around the corner, some other memorable moments so far are the door near the medical lab that keeps banging endlessly and that I didn't realize you can't hear the mutants coming up on you while you're out in space.
Also, the anti-gravity therapy room was neat, with mutants flaoting across to get you. :)

To those struggling with sluggish mouse responsiveness, under the GPU control panel, set the Max Pre-Rendered Frames to either 1 or 0 (best). It does wonders for aiming with the mouse. :) You can easily maintain 60 FPS still if you have a decent GPU.

Plays like a totally different game now.
