Dead Space 2 forcing reboot

I just went through all of Dead Space 1 with no problems, but DS2 causes an instant system reboot within a few minutes of gameplay. Before this the game runs perfectly, just like it did last year when I finished it for the first time. Temps are more than fine since this game doesn't run very hot.

Other games, including ones that make the comp work harder (e.g. AvP3) don't do this.

Well is it instant or does it take a few minutes?

Also are we talking a system reboot or a BSOD. A wild shot in the dark would be to check your PSU is up to the task, they can degrade over time.

It's a Corsair AX750, only a year old. Other, more taxing games work fine. It takes a few minutes of gameplay. I mean the reboot is instant, no warning, sound, or performance degradation. No BSOD.

Well in theory your PSU is more than up to the task. I found a benchmark showing a system overclocked with water cooling only drawing 433W with SLId 460s.

Still doesn't rule out your PSU going bad though although you would think you would be able to replicate the fault on other games. Are you fully up to date on your GPU drivers?

Edit. Also you don't mention if the GPUs, CPU or RAM is OC'd. If so remove the OCs and check if the fault occurs at stock
