Man, I just don't get the threadcrappers around here. If it doesn't interest you, don't dump on it, just move on. One of the posters from above just read the Amazon reviews and took the worst that was said about it from a couple reviewers.
If someone actually took time to read what this charger does, they might be surprised by the price. First of all, four, true 2700 MAh batteries (not the Powmax 2700's) are running 11.97 for 4 Maha's at
Thompson's Distributing here. Now assuming that these Sony brand batteries are actually a good battery, that makes this charger around 10.00. What this charger does that most of the other chargers don't do, is recondition the batteries. That is an extra feature that people pay extra money for. Now I am not saying this is as good as a MAHA conditioning charger, but this Maha (C-204W) costs 30.00
here. Here is another Maha that also conditions the batteries and is a 3-4 hour charger for 20.00
204Gt here. Ihis might be more similar to the Sony the OP posted, but doesn't have separate charging circuits nor the LCD and doesn't include 4-2700 MAh batteries. This Sony has separate circuits for each battery, so you can actually charge a single battery if you need to and not have to pair them up like other chargers. Again, the 4 separate circuits is a feature that is on the chargers that cost more. Plus this has a LCD to show you how the charge is doing. The Mahas don't have that for what that's worth. Now if someone want's a 100 minute hour charger that reconditions too, here is the C401FS Maha for 34.97 for the charger alone.
Maha MH-C401FS.
I looked for a better price than 21.99 for this setup and I couln't find it, so AFAIK this is the best price out there. The extra features that are seem to make this a good deal. If one were to read
ALL 34 reviews, one could get a better feel for this charger. It is given 4-1/2 stars of 5. If someone can find a reconditioning charger with 4 separate charging circuits with four 2700 MAh batteries for less taht 21.95, please post.
