Well they just canceled my order today, still had not reversed charges on my credit card.
I called 973-482-3700 Option #2 in their voice tree
And had a calm and pleasant talk with them, I explained that my order had been canceled today, they took my invoice number, and put me on hold. When they came back they said that it was canceled because the item was backordered for 2 weeks, I said that I had waited two weeks so far, and that two more weeks would not kill me, and they reinstated my order, and will be emailing me verification to that effect.
*fingers crossed*

Well, for those of you that actually got the printer: I hope that the rebate goes through as well. Please be sure to post the results, as I and I'm sure many others are curious as to whether or not it will.

Best of luck!

Well after telling me that my order was still good on thursday, they reversed the charges on my CC on friday. Guess I will be calling them on monday.

Matter of Fax gets negative reviews from me on Epinions and resellerratings, they handled this very poorly. I urge others to do the same as they have not even made a feeble attempt to remedy this in the slightest way.

Just to update for the rebates. I just got off the phone with Lexmark (it has been about 7 weeks). They said it isn't showing up because they had a ton of sales from amazon.com and they haven't begun processing them yet. She said give it another two weeks and call back if it doesn't show up in the online database.

It's been just over 6 weeks since I submitted my Lexmark rebate. I e-mailed Lexmark yesterday to inquire the rebate status and here is the response: "Thank you for your interest in the Lexmark Rebate promotion. In researching our files, we find no record of receiving your rebate request. Unfortunately, some articles do get lost, misdirected or damaged in the handling of the mail. We would, however, like to assist you in receiving the rebate. If you have copies of your original submission please send them to..."

Interesting that so many people are told that their rebate was not received. This sure seems like a scam--the rebate center is banking that many people don't keep a copy of the papers, and therefore, cannot resubmit. I am going to wait 2 more weeks and then resubmit.

Maybe Lexmark is waiting until the promo period is over to see how many rebates got submitted, before they actually process the claims, you think? Let's keep this thread updated.
On the rebate status site, it also gives you the option to check the rebate by your Tracking ID number, did anyone ever receive such a number?

I'm also waiting for my $300 rebate. Their website still shows that they have not received the submission yet, although I'm sure they have. I've also called the number and was told to wait a couple of weeks to show in their system and if it STILL doesn't show to give them another call...I also emailed them but I haven't heard back from that email yet.

I hope you guys sent it in certified mail with return receipt.

I was thinking the same thing.

With the amount of BS surrounding this deal and the number of dollars involved, to not send in the rebate by certified mail would be idiotic, imo.

I'm piss poor and have huge issues spending the extra money for certified mail, but you better believe if I were mailing in a $300 rebate, I would sure as heck be heading off to the post office.

the most important thing is not to send it by certified mail, but to keep a copy of all the paperwork in case one has to resubmit. I've yet to encounter a rebate house that refuses resubmission. If they are going to scam you, they will still deny the rebate with some bogus reason (missing invoice, signiture, etc), certified mail or not.

That's quite true. No matter what you do to ensure the arrival of your submission to them, they can still tell you that you forgot to include something, that is why it is top priority to make copies of everything you send to them.

I've been checking every couple of days--no luck yet. From the rebate form:

Just got off the phone with Lexmark Rebate and was told that my submission had been received and that it is being processed, and should be done in two weeks (I think a lot of people who called were told this)--we'll see.

Does your submission show up online? I tried calling the rebate house and they told me that their computers were down and to call back tomorrow.

no, my submission does not show up online; but as soon as I gave her my name and address, she knew it was for the $300 rebate.

I just called and my rebate is in "processing" as well. It seems as though their online status request database is messed up and not showing any requested status. So, if you are curious to know if you are receiving your rebate or if they even have your rebate I would suggest calling them. The number was posted above by Jlin101.
