I'm sure it does to Lexmark. I'm sure they will try to find a way to weasel out of paying the rebate saying that we already got the savings up front from A Matter of Fax.

That is an interesting find. But check this out and read the small print (found on the same lexmark reseller website). http://www.lexmarkpartner.com/_assets/m...ols2/LXK_E450dn_SellSheet_reseller.pdf
This says that 50% off promotion on the E450dn is valid for only 20 printers per reseller.

Pffffffffffft.......... Site now says:
List Price: $678.33
AMOF Price: $611.11

It'll be interesting to see what price my order went through at..... deal seems officially dead now....

DEAD...My order has gone through all steps according to C-Liason and my card has been charged the $288.88. Worst case scenario I got an awesome deal on this printer and I can always eBay it!

yea i'm gonna ride this one out.

i dont see why the rebate wouldn't be offered.
it's not our fault that the authorized reseller is selling it at a huge discount.

we did not even have to use a coupon code or anything of that sort.

If all goes through, i'm jsut gonna be paying tax no the purchase.

Arrrrggggg, i just canceled my order. Im guessing this was a price mistake. The rep was so quick to cancel it. Im guessing that those who got in on this will get the rebate.

Arrrgghhhhh

call and tell them you want to reinstate the order ?

Well, we've met the terms of the rebate and A Matter of Fax is clearly listed as a valid reseller. Legally, there's no way Lexmark can get out of paying us the rebate.....I know a good attorney if they do. :|

p.s. certified mail for the rebate submission is your friend.

It can't hurt, but it's not going to help much. Certified mail allows you to track it but nobody has to sign for it.

I'm not worried whether they get it or not - I'm worried that they will dig some clause out of the fine print to invalidate the rebate. This will happen with or without certified mail (~$2.50).

What are thoughts on this???

Hi,

A Matter of Fax wants to remind you that we make no offer of rebates. All
rebate offers are the sole responsibility of the manufacturer.
A Matter of Fax cannot be responsible for any rebates not honored by the
manufacturer.

Lexmark made the rebate, not us.

We won't honor the rebate if they don't.

Don't return the printer if they don't give you the rebate...it's not our fault.

That one is actually sold by CompUSA though, so you're taking a risk since I don't believe CompUSA is on the rebate form as an eligible seller.

It was clearly a price mistake....

Now let's see if they honor it.
I have no doubt the rebate will come.

This deal is still on at Amazon.com! And they are listed on the rebate form too:

$311

That is from CompUSA, not Amazon (at least not directly).

Unless it is SHIPPED AND SOLD BY AMAZON.COM, you won't get the rebate. Same with Buy.com. Both list the cheaper price by unauthorized resellers.

As I understand it, once they have fully charged your card, they are obligated to sell you the product unless you cancel the order.

I am no expert and I have never pushed this in a court of law so who knows.

Having said this, who knows.

Hummm....didn't look that close, you're probably correct.

Has anyone checked thru the list of other authorized resellers on the rebate form? Maybe one of them has the $300 price?

A Matter of Fax changed the price and listed it as OOS....but...if you use their "Live Inventory Check" thingy, it shows over 260 "in stock". LMAO

A Matter of Fax

That was part of what concerned me. They make no offer of the rebate. On its own, I wouldn't be worried about that. However, they're specifically named on the rebate as a participating retailer, since this isn't a generic boilerplate manufacturer rebate - it's only good at certain resellers. For them to be participating in the offer but not aware of it, at least not openly, made me question why. Plus, if they made no illusion to offer the rebate, why send the notification? Do they know that there is a real risk of it not being honored? Not enough to mention it before the orders were charged, apparently.

It may very well be much ado about nothing. In any event, it was too much uncertainty for me. And I didn't appreciate being charged more than the invoice I saw before I checked out. On to a better deal, for me. Good luck for the others who are willing to wait it out.

That number actually went up from last night, so despite it being "real time", I be inclined not to trust it.

Just got this email. Though it shows I bought the printer and my order is fulfilled. Wait and see I guess.

I got that email from Victor too.
I also asked for the $26 shipping fee to be credited to my card and they were okay with that.
