Well, I ordered it late last night and I've gotten my invoice to come up on their site, so I guess my order got processed and went through.😎

OK, I'm in for one. My cart refused to give me me free shipping so I called customer service. They had me finalize the order than gave me an immediate credit for the shipping charges.

Dangit, I accidently forgot to select free shipping. Was to click happy! Should I cancel the order & reorder or just leave it as it is?

I did the same and decided to leave it. The $15 isn't worth it to me.

Well I guess they saw all the orders and knew something was up.

Just got this email

Hi,

A Matter of Fax wants to remind you that we make no offer of rebates. All
rebate offers are the sole responsibility of the manufacturer.
A Matter of Fax cannot be responsible for any rebates not honored by the
manufacturer.

A Matter of Fax

Doesn't mean that the order won't come through NOR the rebate but I guess they are just covering their own rear ends.

Greg

A Matter of Fax just emailed me this after completing the order... Seems like they know what's going down, and are covering their a$$es in case Lexmark denies us.

Good luck, all.

Looks like the 50% off is an offer from Lexmark.

The rebate states "can not be combined with any other rebate or offer related to this Lexmark product."

Does this look like their out for not issuing the rebate?

Site now lists the printer OOS:

"This printer is currently on back-order and will not ship for at least two weeks."

I began to get the same feeling. Willing to spend some money on a new printer, but not willing to make a $300+ bet on the rebate. Will look for something elsewhere. Cancelled my order.

As an aside, they may have good ratings, but the fact that their account login system doesn't appear to be a secure page doesn't give a good impression.

No guts, no glory......no free printer!

I'm thinking similarily.

I read the entire rebate and just like A Matter of Fax can't be responsible for the rebate, we can't be responsible if they sell it to us too cheaply.

i dont think the rebate will be a problem.

it's not our problem that a matter of fax is having a big discount on the printer.
also, the rebate form lists them as a authorized dealer for the rebate so it should be fine

I read the rebate form a couple times before ordering.

The only way lexmaerk can really screw us is in the language about not being used in conjuction with other rebates/offers.

For them to do this they would have.to claim that AMOF was selling at a reduced price by absorbing the rebate on the retailer end.

Of course that's almost ceertainly a complete crock, but otherwise they don't have much of a case to deny them.

Figuring it's a 260 + shipping deal for the printer wihtout the rebate, still tempting to keep.

p.s. certified mail for the rebate submission is your friend. 😉

The site appears to be getting hammered...

Still, my order went though, though I'll be amazed if all ends well...

Their reselleratings level might end of taking quite a hit if it doesn't go through. There are other sites such as buy.com that have the same quoted price "after rebate."
