How can we be sure we'd get a $25 rebate? I can't find anywhere that says the retail price is $250. Even if I got 10% of $109.99 it would still work out to 24.5 cents/gig which is still good

Whats the point of sure and rebate in the same sentence?

Its a pretty hot deal at $109, if the rebate works, even better, but this is a "likely" not a sure rebate.

We don't even really know for sure the drives will ship.

I ordered one before this trhead was made and they e-mailed me it was back ordered. I'll just let the order stand, I'm in no hurry. WTF is with all the companies that sell crap they don't have?

What is SD? Where can this rebate be found?

Suggest you go to Hot deals website to find it. Look back to Friday's deals. That's where I first saw it. 🙂

whats the warranty on this?

Standard warranty on Seagate hard drives is 5 years from manufacturing date. As long as these haven't sat on the shelf for 2 years, you've got a nice long warranty to enjoy. 🙂

Google "Seagate 10% rebate''

whats the warranty on this?

Google "ST3400632A-RK warranty"

that rebate was part of the active storage tour, which seagate held at various locations and stores across the country. so it should work regardless of store, as long as you buy the proper item (basically any retail seagate HDD kit, be it external, internal, whatever), within the proper date, and mail it off at the proper time.

im going to try it with the 300GB SATA drive

It's 10% off the MSRP (manufactorer suggested retail price) and not what you paid for it on a retail Seagate HD. So, going by the rules of the rebate, it should not matter how much you paid for it since the rebate is tied to the MSRP. You just need the UPC and a copy of your receipt/invoice.

Just click on the add to cart for it on this page and it should pop up in you cart. It's the only way I've gotten to get it to go in the cart.
