Any successes today? I'm getting an error that I already used the coupon and my coworker got the same msg even though he hadn't bought one. Maybe they're logging IPs? Argh, I have all the parts for my new server except 2/4 of these for my raid-5 and could get by with just one more...

Just FYI, Dell coupons are usually good until a certain day or up to x amount of uses. The first coupon in the $106 deal posted 2 weeks ago was 3,000 uses.

The usage cap almost always hits before the expiration date.

Well got my drive, cc1h gonna load it up tonight and see. I got in late at $113 but not bad at all for a 1.5 tb drive.

I have two of these from Newegg, and they are working well. But I just bought another one from Dell, and I won't be buying bare drives from Dell in the future.

I got the free one-day shipping, but why on earth would they pay whatever it costs to ship it that fast, and not spend two cents on bubble wrap? My drive came in a cardboard box with a small wad of brown paper on top of it. The only thing between the bottom of the box and the vulnerable green circuit board on the bottom of the drive.was the antistatic envelope the drive came in. The little wad of paper did nothing to keep the drive from bouncing around in the box. I haven't plugged it in yet, but I'll be amazed if it isn't DOA.

mine came packaged great as well. Double boxed with two plastic holders that suspend the drive in the middle of the box. Good packaging from dell.

Call them and complain, that is crazy ridiculous! I'd send the drive back and ask for an exchange that is properly packaged.

Mine was single boxed, but had the suspension packaging system. Installed and working great!

Same here. Can we label this deal dead now? I keep getting my hopes up when I see the thread title 😛

Got my 1st one yesterday..., DOA. It was making "CLICK" "CLICK" sounds...Made in China!
Called Dell back and already got a replacement today that works just fine 🙂 Made in Thailand. (So far this is the 3rd 1.5T Seagate MIT drive that works fine for me.)

I complained through their website, but they don't let you return anything unless you try it and it doesn't work. I tried it and it works, but I'm sure its life has been shortened, and these drives don't have a reputation for long life to begin with.

We're sorry, the coupon code you have entered has already expired or has reached the maximum redemption limit.

It was going into an infinite redirect on the site last night, too, so I couldn't test it.

Just wanted to post I got one of these 1.5TB's. Started clicking within a day and started to becoming unrecognized in Windows.

Has the firmware, CC1H which should be new. Oh well, that's what I get for trying to get a high storage drive and taking my chances. LOL.

Oh frack! Haven't installed mine yet, but it's got the CC1H firmware. I suspect the clicking is mechanical, not firmware-related -- ie just Seagate 7200.11 crappiness.

Are you going to try flashing the firmware, return to Dell, or RMA?
