I got a CC1H drive from Newegg during their December Paypal promotion deal and it has been working flawlessly. Couldn't resist picking up another one for such a cheap price.

I don't trust them either and plus I don't have enough Iced Earth to fill up 1.5Tb although all great metal combined does = >1.5Tb.
 
got mine in today from Dell and it was firmware CC1H just like Elopes580's drive. so it should not be affected by the issues.

My torrent files all had errors, the drive showed errors under "Disk Management", and under "My Computer" it showed as TWO drives. This was my second try too. Waiting to RMA....maybe Seagate will get their heads out of their asses, and fix this drive someday (and I don't just mean another shit firmware update!).

Did this occur after some usage or were the errors present under Disk Management immediately after connecting it?

Still hot IMO, just not scorching. This was the price last week and the coupon got maxed out in a couple days. Newegg has it for $130 I believe.

I think Seagate (and Dell) are trying to clear out inventory. I'd wait tho unless you need it right now.
 
Mine shipped- estimated arrival tomorrow. Amazing how fast Dell's shipping is compared to..other retailers!
 
Just received mine. I'm also amazed at how quickly this was shipped and how long shipping took. Even came on the early UPS truck (12PM). Time to test it out for a week. 🙂 Firmware is CC1H.
 
I've had one since Newegg's black friday $109+free shipping deal and had no problems, even streaming HD video off it. If I had seen this thread yesterday in time I'd have had another...

I'm told mine is sitting at home. So what is the deal - anything other than CC1H firmware is known bad, CC1H is known good, or there are random HW (rather than firmware) problems, and it's the luck of the draw?
