Wow, that's a pretty decent deal. No rebate/cashback tomfoolery and free shipping to boot!

Note that "retail boxed" Seagate HDDs retain the 5 year warranty (OEM desktop drives dropped to 3 year in January).

I think I'll buy one. Thanks, OP! It would make a great addition to the six other 1.5TB drives I have. 😀

(for those who think 1.5TB too much, Newegg has the Samsung 1TB for $75 shipped)

Its impossible to have too much HD space these days. Just like its impossible to have a computer that's too fast.

Agreed. Plus the 1.5TB is a better deal price/gig if you don't pay tax. I would even pay more for a single large drive vs several smaller ones.

Got mine. Can't say I'm super impressed with Frys.com. I've ordered from them (outpost.com) for years... seemed to me that I used to get my orders in a day or two (through DHL). Took 4 days for FedEx on this HDD. Also, they must have hired Tiger Direct to do their packaging because the hard drive box was put in a slightly larger box with a single air pillow (which was deflated) on TOP of the hard drive. Now, normally I wouldn't worry a huge amount with a retail boxed drive (Tiger Direct shipped me OEM drives that way). The thing is that this drive's retail box was only 2.75" thick, hardly giving the drive any protection. What happened to 5" thick retail boxes?
