What do you guys think of the $20 MIR? At first it says copy of UPC is OK (under #4 just above the Mesa AZ address), but then later on after "Purchase must be made between March 10..." it says photocopy of receipt and original UPC bar code required.

They need a LAWYER to proof read these rebate! Gessh!

I just noticed that the two $10 rebates require original UPC.
Don't get greedy and try to finesse it and send them both, it's a Bozo No-No.

Hi perk 🙂
Hey 'xo!

Edit: Personally, I find your comments to be typical of those needlessly ideologically blinded by . . . oh, wait, wrong forum! 😉😱

Picked one up. The $10 as well as the $20 rebate printed out for me.
I stopped by my local USPS yesterday, but the moving books must be YMMV b/c this one didn't have any RS coupons. When I went to RS, I found out that all 12 that showed up in the district were gone. I got them order it direct2u which went thru fine, but no rebates were printed out @ the register.

I'm worried about the online SanDisk rebate form since it doesn't seem to specifically include this drive. I don't understand why the rebates printed out at your stores, but not at the one I went to... 😕

when you are connecting this too your computer is setup for optimal performace or safe removal this can make big difference in performance

The $20 rebate is the only one printing out today, there seems to be a lot of confusion about whether the $10 one is good.

Also, yesterday, a 357 MB file took 3 minutes 45 seconds to transfer. I exchanged that one for one who's packaging said in the upper right "Now including trial versions of..." yada yada yada, which the old one didn't have (nor have that software on it), and the new one transferred the same file in 1 minute 18 seconds!!!! That's getting close to 3 times faster!!! Also, the caps were MUCH tighter on this one (although still not the tightest in the world). So there definately is a difference out there on these.

I got the last one today at the cascade Rat Shack in Grand Rapids MI. The nerd working their said the $10 rebate has expired on this. He did print out the $20 rebate though. It is still a smoking deal for $20. There is a $10 rebate from Sandisk, I'm just not sure I want to risk the $20 rebate by sending a photo copy of the upc seal.

Shouldn't be a problem sending in the copy of of the UPC for the 20.00 Ratshack rebate. The rebate form states it twice that you can send in a copy of the UPC, so it's not like it's a misunderstanding or anything. Office Depot frequently has people mail in a copy of the UPC for the rebate. I've done it many times with OD and never had a problem.

Sending in a copy of the UPC is what I am going to do. The fact of the matter is for me, the extra 10.00 rebate is what got me to bite. If it was just the 20.00 Ratshack rebate I wouldn't have bought it. I would have waited for the 1 GB flash drives to drop a little more.

There is a $10 SanDisk Mail In Rebate (just added to first post) in addition to the $20 RadioShack Rebate.

This $10 rebate form does list the SanDisk 512MB Cruzer Micro as one of the qualifying items, and does not expire until 3/15/05.

For those who did not receive the second rebate form, this one may work for you.

Anyway, hope this helps, granolagirl 🙂

P.S. I understand xfarmer's concern about sending in a copy of a UPC for a rebate, but I've submitted copies of UPC's when rebate forms have allowed it, and I've yet (knock on wood) to have any of those be rejected. Of course, I've probably just jinxed myself now...

Got one at the Southbridge, MA radioshack today. There are two more on the shelf in case anyone cares.

The clerk did give me some grief on using the $10 off coupon from the entertainment book.

Good luck!

Just wanted to say thanks for the heads up on this deal, ordered one instore yesterday, got both rebate printouts. Supid thing was, the website still shows that all four RS's have them in stock, but none of them did according to the instore computer. No problem, not in any hurry!

OK, here goes!! I will give the copy a try. I guess we will all be back here whining if they don't accept it... lol

Again, for those that are missing it, what you're looking for is one with a sticker in the upper right front that says "Now including trial versions"... yada yada yada. On the back, in the upper right, will be a clear sticker that says "made in China".

Those with the stickers are almost 3x faster than those without. Those without are really USB 1.1 despite the USB 2.0 packaging.

Ya I saw that too. Also, on the $10 MIR form it says "Not valid with any other offer". I guess we just have to rely on the fact that RS printed both forms and presented them at time of purchase with the representation that both were valid. That should carry more weight than the "fine print".

called 4 radio shacks in my area (rochester, ny) and all were out of stock. went to the store and had them order it for me anyway (free shipping), so it will be $23 AR (they said the $10 isn't valid anymore, but i'm not sure about that). hopefully it's one of the newer fast ones (trial offer sticker).

Just got back from RS after picking up mine... no $10 rebate printed out, so hopefully the online .pdf will work for the Sandisk rebate... $20 ain't bad, but $10's better. 2 left in St. Marys, OH - "Where living is a pleasure!"

SanDisk Rebate Offer
Promotion Number 9014-SD
PO Box 42903
Mesa, AZ 85274-2903
Thanks, granolagirl. Looks like this offer is the same as the PDF you posted earlier. They both are going to the same place. (Same Zip code ext.) 😛

on a side note, there is not much clearance for a thick key ring, I had to use a skinny one.

so those of you with fat key king loops, find a thinner one or something

Thanks alot for the post!!! I went to my RS today at 8pm to pick this up. The price tag said 49.99 and I got a little nervous. Then I said I was on the website and the online price was 39.99. The guy rang it up and the lower price showed up. I was happy to see the price and even more so when I saw the 20.00 rebate printing out. I'm going to use the 10.00 rebate from online as well.

Hopefully mine is the 2.0 version, as I would be disappointed if it was the 1.1. Either way, 9.99 is an amazing price for one of these. I currently have a 64mb that is like 2x the size of this one!

Also, the blue LED that lights up when its plugged in is pretty pimp! 🙂

Thanks for the heads up guys!!! I'll be testing it out later on! Hope you all enjoy yours!
