This is my first big posting here, and i just wanted to thank people for their kind replies.
Regarding the question about the cap tightness. I would say it is neither too tight nor is it too loose. However, like Hork, I plan to use the larger plastic piece which looks like it will better protect the device. It also appears to fit more tightly over the flash drive.
In response to Controller's concern about the "not valid with any other offer" wording on the $10 rebate: I have called the rebate CS depts for both SanDisk & RadioShack. Both CSR's I spoke w/ assured me that the two different rebates will work. The phrasing only applies if you try to submit two SanDisk rebates, in which case you'll at best get one rebate to work, or at worst cause both to be cancelled. It would be the same if you tried to submit two RadioShack rebates.

I have few questions. They were out at my store and offered to ship it to me. I mentioned the 10 dollar rebate and the guy tried to print it out for me and could not so he just gave me 10 off the price out the door.
Can I still use the 10 dollar rebate if I find a copy online? Does anyone have a link to it? That would make it $2.46 after rebates😀

got mine here in ATX. man this is one quality flash drive.. not only does it look cool and its ultra compact... it came with a file encryption program and more. Good shiet....

Just got one at my local RS. I received 2 rebate forms for $20 and $10.
Very good quality unit. I transferred a 100MB file to it; took a little more then a minute. My only concerns are that of the two (2) plastic caps (the larger one is by far the best) and the fact that it is recognized as a USB 1.1 device (probably a PC issue).
This is a highly recommended deal.

Picked one up. The $10 as well as the $20 rebate printed out for me.
Ok, the small cap fits on tighter, but is still relatively loose. I can see it coming off in your pocket without too much trouble. The larger cap, well, there's no WAY it would stay on. It's much looser. I think this might be a problem.
Secondly, tested it with 357 MB of files copying from the HDD. It took 4 minutes, 41 seconds to complete. That's 1.27 MB/sec. Is it just me, or does that sound pretty crappy slow for a memory device and USB?
In addition, the cruzerlock utility that came on mine was version 0.9.something.something from 2003. They've got a 2.1 version available on their website to download and replace it.

direct2u shipped mine, but I got both rebates ($10 and $20). This is a crap slow unit based on the reviews I've seen, but then that's why its $13 AR for 512mb.
as far as the cap issue, maybe somebody bright will come up with an easy way to tighten these up somehow..

I think you got an older drive; both of the caps fit perfectly on my drive. I'll report back Sandra results later
