Ooooooohhhhhh, why must you tempt me so?!?!? I have been contemplating taking my 128GB version of the 840 Pro and turning it into the 256GB version, so I can split it in half to dual boot and play with Win8.

Make a virtual machine to play with win8, you can basically try everything and vm's are nearly as fast as the native machines now.

Got one last week for $215 from Newegg. I'll see tomorrow if they'll credit it $15 back.

Awesome drive.

Reminds me of when the 830 did this last year. Wonder if that means we'll see $150 this year!

Great deal, sadly will have to pass since all but one of my machines already have SSD in them... However, if this hits $150 or lower at the end of the year clearance, then all bets are off :D

Going to build new rig in next 3 months. Wonder if I should jump on this now or wait. Think it will go back up??

Any reliability issues with this SSD, and is the 128 GB one just as fast as the 256?

I caved and bought one. I had the 512GB version on backorder for $450, but its been a month. I can still record 60 min at 1080p60 with 256GB.

Paid 280 for this at microcenter at the beginning of December. If only I would have waited... but oh well awesome drive well worth it still.

Just filled in "most" of my taxes and my refund is quite a bit larger than I thought. I am thinking strongly about getting 2 of these for a RAID 0! ARGH...it's a sickness.

Yep. I justify mine by reminding myself I don't have a boat, snowmobile, cabin, beach house, kids, etc. which means I can buy PC parts once in a while.():)

Damn, that's good stuff. I can remind myself (at 44 years of age) that I don't have a house payment (for 7 years), don't have a car payment (my car is 10 years old), have enough money for my kid's tuition, have no other "real" payments and have a decent sized retirement. But somehow, I feel like I'm not doing enough for retirement and savings at times. It's a struggle at times. Still holding out hoping it will go dead.

Damn... $215 last week, $200 this week.... what will next week bring?

Well..I'm hoping next few months brings them down even further - 500gb for the same price.

"memory devices" are in the tank right now - so hopefully the prices for SSD drives will drop significantly. :)
