Samsung:

http://accessories.us.dell.com...466193-361116-FW7r9re4

Normally $279.99. $80 discount when added to cart.

Apply coupon 1Z829VM32T983V for 10% off.

Final price should be $179.10 + applicable taxes.

edit: Above Samsung deal now dead.

Dell:

http://accessories.us.dell.com...bsd&cs=04&sku=320-7825

$229. Apply same coupon for 10% off.

Final price should be $206.10 + applicable taxes.

I know this price isn't that much lower than what people have been getting going through chat, but this saves the hassle of doing so.

If you have a Discover card, go through ShopDiscover for another 5%.

edit: This coupon applies to a lot of monitors. These two stood out for me. If you find other good LCD deals, please let me know!

Nice find! I was going to go with the 24 inch Sammy (only 10% off, but better than newegg), but it is OOS.

I was thinking about the Sammy - I hate e-IPS panels because of the high quality, and will only use TN panels becuase I only stare directly at them dead center.

Any naysayers for general use and light gaming?

You basterds your making me poor 😀. Just joking. Thanks for the post op. I have been living for awhile with a 22in Acer TN panel and a dell 1905FP and it sucks because the colors are not even close. I have a wood background and on one monitor it looks like cherry and on the other one oak. I have tried to adjust both of them but could not even get the colors close. The 2209WA is supposed to be one of the best monitors for color in anything close to its price range and since i don't play games but i use Lightroom/Photoshop a lot this is awesome. I bought two 🙂. You can get an addition 1.5% off if you use fatwallet or 1% if you use ebates. Ive never used fatwallets CB system but i signed up since they beat ebates by .5%.

OK to make the samsung panel even hotter there is a 20 rebate available for it:

I still rather have the Dell LCD though 🙂.

If you're going to be dead center all the time and not lying on the floor looking up to watch movies, play Xbox, etc. and don't need to do color critical type work, a good TN monitor is fine, considering the cost difference.

I really think the 23" Samsung is a great deal. It's around $240 after rebate at Newegg and around $260 after rebate at Amazon. 25% below Newegg with no rebates to deal with? I was sold.

Sorry, that rebate doesn't apply to Dell purchases (far right column). I checked that rebate when I was price shopping at Newegg.

Ya sorry my fault i thought it said "valid at"...wierd it would say "Not valid at"

I am think about to get the 150 acer from newegg or the dell eips monitor. Beside the difference between the TN and eips, is the dell superior to the acer one. I am currently using LG L227WTG and a dying 19 inch Hanns.G monitor and I am going to replace the 19 inch with whatever I am getting. So, which monitor will compliant the LG more, the acer or the dell.

I guess some people are just more sensitive to the quirks of TN panels. I simply cannot use LCDs with either TN panels or glossy screens. Even the minor luma/color shift at slight angles bugs me. On glossy screens I notice any reflection at all.

To me there is no price difference that could justify me buying a TN panel over a Dell UltraSharp 2209WA. At just over $200, it's already insanely cheap for what it is. It's certainly a better deal than the Samsung, or even 22" TN panels in the $150 range.

The Dell 2209WA uses an LG e-IPS panel, but ironically your LG monitor might use a cheaper panel from some second-tier OEM. It's not about which monitor complements the other, but which is simply better. Once you see the Dell and LG side-by-side and see a difference, it might shock you into never buying a TN panel again.

I agree with you completely on the virtues of the Dell e-IPS. I bought one for my wife so she could do some graphic design work at home.

The only thing keeping me from getting one for myself is the resolution. I want a 1900x1200 or even 1900x1080. Show me an e-IPS model under $250 before taxes and I'm all over that.

I bit on the $220 1080p Viewsonic from Costco last month but returned it 2 weeks later. I couldn't get the colors to look right. I'm back to my Dell E198WFP 19" TN until my Samsung arrives. For a really old 19" TN LCD, the picture quality is excellent. I just need more screen size.

LG (who makes the screen for the Dell) is supposedly coming out with their own branded e-IPS 1080p model soon. In the meantime, the Samsung should tide me over.

Just bought the S2409W 24" LCD for $233.10 before tax+ free shipping. (Ive always used TN, so dont mind)

Thanks OP!

Dell is usually pretty quick if the item is in stock. I ordered it yesterday with initial estimated delivery date of 4/6. Their initial dates are always really conservative.

I didn't get a shipment confirmation email, but I checked my order status online. Shipped with new delivery date of 3/31. I wouldn't be surprised if I got it on Monday tho if it's coming out of their CA warehouse. I know they also have warehouses in TX and TN among other places.

I live about 90 min from austin. I was worried about sales tax, but I paid ~ $17 for sales tax and they gave me free shipping... $223.10 shipped for the 2209wa.

I received my Samsung today and just set it up. I couldn't be happier. Color quality is vastly improved over the 24" Viewsonic I returned earlier. Zero dead pixels and no backlight bleed. I heard horror stories about mounting it on the stand but it was easy. Dropped brightness down to 50 from 100 and will try to calibrate more in detail. Out of the box tho, it's beautiful. My only regret is that I didn't buy two, doh.
