(DEAD)Samsung 1 TB F3 Spinpoint 7200 RPM $80 @ Newegg

I am building a PC & needed at least 1TB. So thanks. This is an even better deal with the Google Offer code too.

LOL! Yeah.

However it works if you need a drive. 😛

Whew I thought I was screwed till when did they say prices might drop? January? If that....

Yeah Hot Deal... At least compared to the prices as of late. I tried to buy a couple of these for a RAID 1 setup and by the time I was ready the prices tripled. At this point I think I'll wait till the crisis is over, but this is definitely 'hot' for those that need a drive right now.

I paid about that for a 2tb WD hd last year on BF. Hard to believe flooding in Thailand is messing with our computer prices, huh?

Curse you Globalization!!!

btw, I just paid $100 + tax for a 3tb usb 3.0 external HD on a BF deal at Best Buy. Why are external drives so much cheaper right now?

I dunno. I got lucky and got a MyBook Essential 3TB External on clearance at Wal-Mart for $90.

Externals at Wal-Mart and Costco are still the same price. So *shrugs*

I tore open my seagate goflex 3 tb that I got for $120 from the staples deal last week, I typed in the model number into newegg and saw the internal drive going for $399 😱

probably because most external drives being sold right now were assembled long before the crisis. so those drives are already paid for at a much lower cost. if i was a retailer i would still jack the shit out of the markup, just because i could.

Another good HDD deal since this drive is OOS...

Newegg has a 2TB Seagate for $99 shipped for today only. Good deal for the prices lately.

^ It's that one. You can "combo" it with a RAID card (OOS currently) or JBOD enclosure for $10 more. With the $40 Google deals GC, I got the JBOD enclosure + 2TB drive for $90 shipped (counting the $20 I paid for the $40 Newegg GC).

To think, we're only slightly past the gouging period and into an actual shortage.

I'm personally waiting for 1TB platter drives to begin proliferating the market and dropping in price. Right now the Seagate Barracuda 3TB ST3000DM001 is retailing for $250 @ Amazon.com. When I can buy two 3TB for $250, I'm in. 🙂

Tasteless, asinine 'humor'.

No wonder people don't like a lot of Americans.

better then being (british? assumed by lack of common sense. i dont know i just picked a foreign country, theyre all the same anyway). if you read it as an elaborate question asking when prices might be back to normal levels, and you do take in account my usual team america fuck yeah attitude, it actually is tasteless, asinine and 'humor'. so thanks mate.
