Portable speaker probably would have been a more accurate product name...Originally posted by: Navid

Thanks for the input . The Amazon reviews look pretty good too, so I ended up biting 😀. Amazon said it was around 2 lb, so it should be pretty easy to carry around along with my SFF.Originally posted by: Maasracer

Well this is tough to quantify as this is the first pair of portables I've used. If I had to guess, they sound like the cheapest 2-piece (no sub) pc speakers from a decent brand/maker like Altec or Logitech... maybe a little worse.
The emphasis here is "portable." These were not designed to be used as full time speakers at a computer desk. I mean they COULD be used there, but they just won't sound as good as dedicated speakers from a decent brand. These really are meant for the room in your apt/house that doesn't have an iPod dock w/speakers. Or in a hotel room on a biz trip cuz you don't want sore ears from hours of earbud wearing.

The great thing about this speaker is it's simplicity. There's no volume control or on/off switch. The volume is controlled by the attached device. The power turns on when the audio input cable is plugged into the speaker. If you turn off your audio device (MP3 player, cell phone, PDA, etc.) the speaker powers down after a few minutes to save on battery power.
