Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop for the Wii quickly loses my interest

Video - Seriously? This is the best they could do? That is the most zombies they could get on screen at one time? Ugh. Why bother.

I still have my copy for the 360 and have intentions of playing it some day, but every time I stil down and really consider playing it I get turned off by the timer. I really dislike them. Hell--in a single mission it's slightly tollerable but to have one for the length of the entire game just kills me. Also, I've heard from several people that you should play the game and level up to about level 6-7 and then start over? If this is true then that's a bummer. I have played the first hour of the game and really enjoyed that though.

But on topic about the Wii, it does look pretty bad. The Wii just isnt a graphical powerhouse and it really shows here.

The timer is why I never bought Dead Rising....

Its a game mechanic that a lot of people enjoy, however it just turns me off from playing.

And yes, this is what happens when you try to port a game meant for consoles with some actual power to the weak little Wii.

Instead of doing that and ending up with crap, why don't developers built a game from the ground up specifically for the Wii?

I guess they don't want to spend the time and resources doing that, though...especially with the Wii's trend in sales.

Dead Rising was one of the most fun experiences I've had playing video games.

This video looks like an abortion of the original concept.

Exactly how I feel about the game (360 version). It felt like I was working, not playing.

It looks better than a lot of games coming out for the Wii. I'll give it a rent or pick it up when it hits the bargain bins since I don't have a 360.

I seem to recall reading that they were going to make it easier on the Wii, could that be part of it?
Yes, I remember reading that somewhere as well. Something about the 360 version being catered to the more 'hardcore' gamers and the Wii version remade for the more general audience.

They wanted to make it easier for people who felt like they were being rushed to finish the game because of the timer in the 360 version.

I really enjoyed the 360 version, but the small text annoyed the hell out of me since I couldn't read what I was supposed to do next :disgust:

Why does everyone expect more out of an overclocked Gamecube?

Dead Rising is all physics which takes a huge toll on even modern CPUs, when people get shot in Hitman on the PS2 they just die, they don't react based on where they were hit. Having more models on the screen doesn't make it more impressive.

QFT. The Wii is a lot more powerful than the PS2. Developers are just lazy as heck.

The timer killed it for me too. Everything else is awesome but then they had to go fuck it up with their "reality".

That looks fun, and I was looking for a reason to hate on the Wii, because God knows I do, but still. Maybe the original is way better in which case damn I need to get it.
