Hi.. i think my enermax power supply died.. woke up this mawnin and the puter was off.. the green light on the mobo was out. tried unplugging and switchin the switch on and off on the ps and no go...
what's the warranty on these things anyway?? i just bought it about 3 or 4 months ago..
anyway... i don't think i know where the bill is....

so now that i think i need a new PS.. i was thinking of gettign a Kingwin KWI-350W Dual Fan, Manual Control ... mainly because its the cheapest decent PS i could find in my area...
is this a good PS???? what's the quality compared to say an enermax or antec????
it's about $10 cheaper than those other PS'....

i saw a decent review for the 450 watt version but was curious as to what user experiences were..

also.. could there be any other problem wit my puter???? or am i right in suspecting a dead ps... if the mobo was fried wouldn't the PS turn on when i tried to turn on the switch?

Just a thought - have you checked the fuse in the plug yet?

Also possibly the fuse in the PSU. Those often blow for no good reason - just marginal right from the factory. Be sure to replace with as close to the same rating as you can find - certainly no more than 10% higher. Also a good idea to check the breaker to the outlet you are using to power your PC. If it's a ground-fault protection outlet, make sure that hasn't tripped.

k.. well i picked up a thermaltake 420watt PSU on the way home... didn't bother checking the fuse (not sure i would know where it is or how to change it)...
The machine is working wonderfully again wit the new PSU..

i think the enermax was not powerfull enough.. i have 2 optical drives and 3 HDDs, a floppy, and 3 case fans... so i figure i should go with the 420 watt jus to be safe..

Does anyone know how to RMA the dead Enermax?? i went on the website and they said to go to the dealer.. but on the receipt to the store where i bought it it says 1 year manufacture warranty.. i think they want me to deal with the manufacturer directly.

Good luck in getting an internet dealer to help you re. warranty on anything. Give Enermax a call, most of the US distributors will handle warranty RMAs if you hound them a bit.

no.. its a B&M i got the Enermax from... but on the Enermax website they said check with retailer and the retailer said to go through Enermax... I live in Canada so i'm not sure that the US distributers will help me out.. I'll check into it..
Thanks anyway..

if all fails looks like i got two 3 month old 80mm fans for $50... haha.. lol
