Antec Earthwatts 430W should be able to handle that system although it's not SLi certified but 6600GTs shouldn't take that much power anyway. I'm running an Opteron 146, 1GB RAM, Abit KN8, 1x 6600GT, 2xhard drives on an Antec Earthwatts 380...

put a paper clip from the green to the black on the 24 pin plug then plug the psu in to the wall.. if its bad you can check the switch and a fuse inside if its not under warranty.. if its bad id go for something way more than 430 watts as only the highest watt psu's have good efficiency and will be worth the money in saved power bills.. (also psu's dont really go down in price so no point waiting)

Wow killster nice FUD. Alot of lower power PSU's have great efficiency (80+) as RM stated.

Earthwatts is a good reccomendation, 6600GT's dont take much power even in SLi , but I don't think it has two PCI-e power connectors (but I'm not sure if the pci-e version required extra power)

If you want something better I'd start with Corsair 450

wow almost every thread here is your responce.. "get a antec earthwatts" guy asks for modular psu.. "get a antec earthwatts!" hahah

well it isnt 80% efficient at 430 watts now is it.. its 78% and does 50C exhaust at 43db.. so does that sound like all you need or maybe want something more efficient at 430watts or higher..

im not even going to mention how gay the psu looks with its tiny fan and unbraided cables..

The 6600GTs take power directly from the PCI-e slots (at least mine does). There is no external 6-pin connector.

1. The power supply is cheap and is of decent build quality. Find me another power supply for $40AR shipped that is 80 Plus certified, made by Seasonic and has a 3 year warranty where the manufacturer actually honors it.
2. No one truly needs a modular PSU. I have used two in my own build thus far and I can tell you this from experience.
3. You look at the back of the computer when you use it? If a 80mm does the job and keeps everything cool, why would you need a 120mm?
4. Unbraided cables lol...what are you...a ricer? Do you stare at the innards of your case all day?
5. Okay, so it's not 80% efficient at 100% load. You try and make a power supply that does 78% efficiency @ full tilt, charge $40 for it and then we'll talk. How about that?

put a paper clip from the green to the black on the 24 pin plug then plug the psu in to the wall..

didn't mean to start an argument about efficiency.. but i will look into all recomendations b4 i decide.. thanks for the followup..ill keep u posted

Obviously you don't know much about used hardware prices these days. I paid $20 for a 6600GT, $20 for an AMD Opteron 146 and $40 for a nForce4 Skt 939 motherboard three weeks ago. Maybe you'll pay $55 for an SLi board but that's a big maybe. /threadhijacking

IFICUDIWUD: Are you still within the warranty period? (unlikely question because I have a feeling OCZ stopped producing that PSU a long time ago) If it's not powering on, you should probably just RMA it. If you've tried the paper clip method and done many different combinations, your best bet might as well be a new PSU.

i plgged in my antec true power 2.0 and it fired up just fine all fans came up and everything. the reason i dont use it is cuz it doesnt have a -5v. its the one i bought originally for this build but wouldnt work.. thats why i bought the ocz 420 adj in the first place.. looking at the antec psu i dont see where any of them have a -5 v.. maybe im missing something.. also looked at the ocz site and didnt see any there either. reckon wht the -5v is for?.. went round and round with the antec and just could not get it to work.. plugged in the ocz and it fored right up and been runnin right at 3 yrs till now

guess i need help finding one with a -5v supply

-5V isn't even used any more...and therefore was removed from the ATX specification.

Take a look at this tread: Text

Antec TruePower 2.0s have a tendency to die within 8-9 months due to its use of the infamous Fuhjyyu capacitors. I recommend that you get rid of that PSU pronto.
