A variation of this deal worked great for me. Check this out:

Item # Unit Description............................................................................................Our Price.Order Quantity
421791 each SHREDDER,P600C,CHARCOAL...................................................................$4.44 ........1
442827 each PNY 256MB DDR Memory Upgr................................................................$44.84 .........1
290441 each PNY SDRAM Memory Upgrade For Desktop Computers, 128MB, PC133 .$34.99 .........1
SubTotal: $84.27
Tax: $3.56
Delivery: $0.00
Misc.: -$25.00
Total: $62.83
Less $45 in Mail in rebates = $17.83 after tax.

Called OD and had them adjust price of "290441" to in-store price of $27.84, savings of $7.15 + tax = $7.58

Net cost = $10.25. Sounds like a great deal, but if you look closely it's a supercalifragilistikexpialidocious deal!!!

Notice the first item, shredder "421791". On their web site here for $102.52. This item was on closeout a while ago, available at this $4.44 price for in-store pick up only. I had it in my cart, but the closest store to me that had it was a 3 hour round trip. However, I left it in my cart at that price, and it was still there today when I went to order (for delivery). Lo and behold, it let me order it!
Add the postage for the rebates and the total cost is still only $10.99.

Any suggestion on something priced at around $6 to buy so we can get free shipping?

Edit: I bought 3lb cookies for $6.99.

Very nice deal.

I did this back in November 2002 only with Kingston ValueRAM and it worked out beautifully.

$10 for 512MB RAM is friggin' awesome!

Just got mine, didnt have to do any tricks... just straight up bought it for $48.84 from OD....

at the end, its like ~$8.00 after rebates, taxes, etc...

$8.00 seems like an ok deal.. But I was hoping for ~$4.00... Oh well, still a good deal :\

When I was picking up my memory at OD, I was able to get sticks with 6-nanosecond chips. According to this thread, it should overclock better. Can anyone confirm this based on personal experience / published reports?

Stop by Office Depot today to pick-up the PNY 256MB DDR MEMORY that I ordered Sunday when the price was still showing as $54.84 for in store pick up, I told the manager that I couldn't get the correct price to show when I ordered so he told the cashier to credit back $10 to my card by ringing it up as a exchange. Much easier than arguing on the phone with some CS moron.

BTY: The price and now showing as $44.84 for shipping or in store pick, I guess we they got tired of making that stupid argument about this being a in store only deal.

Thanks MysticMan for another well organized hot deal post. Not sure I really need it, but for $5 couldn't pass it up. My local store had it in stock so I ordered online for instore pickup to save a few $$ on shipping.

My local OD has rejected 3 orders now. They won't accept any coupons. That's 2 in-store (one this week and the other 2 weeks ago) and 1 for delivery. Anyone else's store doing that?

If you are writing down the coupon code and taking that to the store thay don't have to accept those coupon codes because they are on-line or phone orders only coupon codes not for use in store, but some store managers let people use these code sometimes.

Got in on this one. I had to search a few stores before I found one with them in stock. Time to upgrade from PC133. Thanks :)

So what's the item # for the PC133? Also, how to know if it's compatible with the 256MB of Crucial currently in my machine?

I placed all 3 online with a CC. They all went from waiting to fill to some type of deleted. The first, 2 weeks ago, was in-store, they cancelled it. The next 2 this week, 1 in-store and 1 delivery, they called me and cancelled.

The Item # is 755841. I can't comment on compatibility. Can you tell me what chipset/cpu you have and the type of memory the Crucial stick is?
