Today's Amazon Deal of the Day is the Playstation 3 80GB for $349.99. Eligible for Free Super Saver Shipping.

This model is not backwards compatible with Playstation 2 games. Decent deal that does not require you to sign up for a credit card or wait for rebates.

UPDATE: Looks like it's sold out already. That didn't last long.

UPDATE 2: Back in stock!

It was $400 in January and it's still $400 in June... where's my price drop?

Decent deal though. Also, OOS.

You can still do the deal at the SonyStyle store where you apply for a Sony credit card and get a $150 credit (later gets deducted). It currently comes with an extra DualShock controller.

So it ends up being $400 + ~$40 for tax and shipping - $150 credit = ~$290.

Still shows up in stock and available to me.

Sitting at the checkout screen right now trying to decide if I wanna pull the trigger. Finally bought the 360 yesterday and have been waiting for a good price on the ps3. Just not sure if I want to spend all that money back to back like that! Being out of stock woulda made my decision much easier...

Yeah they turned me down for a Sony Style CC.

I ended up spending the money I saved for a PS3 on the system in my sig.

I have used a 60gb as a media hub for a while now (Divx player / random movie format player, web browser, DvD upscaler, bluray player). I have only had to send it back for repairs once (power supply died), my Toshiba laptop on the other hand is on its 5th RMA. I do not play games on it, but it is an excellent device for home theater purposes.
