yz426, if you don't get free shipping, try to click on "calculate shipping and tax" at your shopping cart page.

if still doesn't work, delete your dell cookies.

Geez... you guys are killing me. I finally took the plunge on this LCD, despite telling myself that I was going to wait for the big price drops I keep hearing about.

$681.51 includes tax (TX is 8.5% ouch!) and 2-day shipping.

Now I can't decide if I should use this at work where it will get more use but be hooked up to a shitty computer, or whether I should use it at home where I will have an excuse to get a new vid card...

The Dell 1900FP AKA Samsung 191T is probably the best 19" on Dell's list. I was told by someone on this board who owns the 1900FP is superb all around = fast response time (25ms) so adequate 3D gaming and excellent 2D. I went ahead and placed my order (upgrading from a Samsung 171P 17").. I'll update you if you'd like to hear my opinion after I receive it.

Thanks a bunch... I'll get one too... :)

What price drops? Personally, I doubt there'll be any big price drops on LCDs any time soon... LMK

Even better deal if you can find someone who has the $100 off $400 home coupon. Only if you know someone who has bought a Dell machine in the last few months (like my bro-in-law)

Got this for for about $550, free shipping.

If this monitor sucks, at least I can send it back.

i had the dell fp2000 and sent it back 2 months ago games not the best but as far as 2 d it was great. I have a 17.4 planar that looked great, plays games great.

I ordered the 19" planar last week for 747 and got it. Better than the dell fp2000. I just ordered another one last night for dual monitor Love.

Save you money and get the planar over the dell. $500 isnt worth the extra inch

you greedy b@stard.
Um... I got three to replace the three Hyundai 17" inchers I got via this board just a month ago. My wife will kill me this time I'm sure. I hope ebay treats me good on these slightly used 17's. I wanted 19's then but caved on a deal.
P.S. Been doing dual display for years. Triple display was just a natural progression.
The total for the three 19" planars was $1977.75 to my door.

Where does one find the coupon in the box the machine came with? I know two people who got machines from dell and they can not find the coupons....
The one was a laptop and the other was a desktop. Is there a catalog in the box with it printed on it? Or is it printed on something else. Please be specific I wanna save another $100 if possible......

thanks...

Another tidbit. Looks like Planar even updated the specs on the 1940Z in terms of how many USB ports it has.

Look here!

but old pdf still says 4 usb ports

PDF

Hopefully, we all get the CT1940Z model.

So is this planar 19" good for fps games or does anyone know? This was asked earlier, but I'm not sure if it was answered...
TIA

i guess it would be a good thing to save the pdf file so we have some proof that it's supposed to be 4 usb ports.
yeah, i'm still waiting to hear someone who actually got the ct1904z model.

AFAIK MVA panels aren't as good as non-MVA panels for gaming.

EDIT: Although this panel does have a 25ms delay, so best to search the forums and find out exactly.

Which LCD is an exmaple of non-MVA?

From the research I've done, mva IS better for gaming, since among it's improvements over the other lcd technologies include faster response times and better contrast ratios. In any case, I've got a planar 18.1" right now, and am going to sell it as soon as I receive the 19" I ordered. the 18.1" (though non mva) works very well for gaming.

Coupon won't take for me when trying to order this item.... even tried all new browser.

NEVERMIND, Got it to work!

Two Orinoco Gold PCMCIA ($52 - Dell TrueMobile 1150) cards and a 19" CT1904Z! I love my existing Planr 17.1" from Dell.

The 19" doesn't pivot, does it?

How about less threads on spending money and more on making money. :) Cause once you got the money, no need for coupons anymore
