i suppose they could develop with time...how much time are we talking about here? (just curious cause i've been using a Samsung SyncMaster 570vTFT LCD display for the past 6 months with no dead pixels).

Thats always been something that bothers me about LCD's. In my eyes thats just not acceptable, if one dies that means the rest will eventualy right?.

i don't see how if one pixel dies the rest do...i mean you may know something about it that i don't...but i had a dead pixel on my laptop LCD and it was the only one that ever died.

Most of the time it's stuck (on) pixels or sub pixels that will be visable and drive you crazy

Stuck pixels are a certain color while dead pixels are black. IMO, I've seen both and stuck pixels are more annoying, but are more likely to be 'massaged' out. :p

<< So stuck pixels are worse then Dead ones? >>

i would say so. i won't be buying an LCD any time soon... not until the defect rate is MUCH MUCH lower.

What does massaged out mean?

The way I uderstand it is its nearly impoosible to make hese LCD glass to complete perfection.
