Ohh you lucky bastard!!!

I got off work early yesterday to pick mine up (about 3pm eastern), damn manager was right there at the pickup desk. First the kid claimed they didn't have it in stock. I asked for a raincheck, the manager jumped out and stated that they were unable to honor the price listed on CC.com. I showed them the invoice from amazon (rather than cc) and the manager scratched her head. Still no go. *grr*, damn new yorkers are too suspicious. I wish I was picking up from a mid west CC... ahh well. 20 gift card is still a decent return for a 5 minute drive.

Hehe, when i went in to pick up my 2nd one on Monday, I saw the manager right at the pickup counter, so I "shopped around" and went to the bathroom :)

Came back 5 min later and the manager was gone! MUUUUHHHAAAAHAHAHHAA.... so i handed the csr my confirmation printout and he rang it up without a hitch. I even gave him the wrong credit card and he told me that wasn't the right card.... stupid me... created extra attention... BUT anyway, after all that, i walked out quickly but calmly with the $199 M515 palm in my hands :)

...wonder if they saw me jumping up and down in the parking lot......

For some reason, the people on the AT forums were "slow" to react to this deal. It was originally over at FW and thread is close to 500 posts by now.

I'd say it's about a 55/45 split on people that ordered them and were actually able to pick them up for $199.

Thread on F@twallet >500 posts, where have all the Ferengi from ATHD gone?

There's ranting, raving & gnashing of teeth over there about the deal, I'm accustomed to seeing the opposite, multiple posts on ATHD, & fewer on FW...

I pm'd to Staples, OM, & OD successfully;)

You can try and YMMV, depending on the CSR. But didn't AT mods consider this as fraud (PM using price error prices)?

I had the email from CC for $199 & sales reciept after I picked up the m515 @ CC 10:00am Monday, it was not a known pricing error till after I did my PM's, had all my PM'ing done by 11:00am Monday, didn't get an email notifying me of a pricing error till 11:20 am, didn't read the email till that evening... I suspected it was a pricing error, however, it could as well have been a legitimate drop in the prices with the Dell & Viewsonic rocking PDA prices, & the introduction of the Palm Tungsten T, & upcoming Tungsten W (the W looks real interesting, a Palm/Blackberry RIM combo)...

I've been watching Amazon PDA prices swing by >$100, (look @ the range of prices on the Toshiba e740 threads in the last month & a half) a drop in the price on this brand @ CC is unlikely, but not unheard of.

The local Staples manager chided me for not coming around more often when he was doing my PM, I've been coming around closing time after work, & (he's usually gone already) cuz it's on the way home.

The mods know I like a little vacation now & again anyway;)

Hot Deals can be a lot of work.

Looks like some people are going for legal action against CC/Amazon. They've called their respective state's attourney general:Q

The way I look at it all these companies that "claim" to have low price guarantees are getting HUGE benefits from the sheeplike public that fails to hold their feet to the fire. Whenever a manager whines at me during a PM, I just say how sorry I feel for all the rest of their customers who "thought" they were getting the lowest price and didn't. All I ask I say, is that they comply with their advertised policy.

Besides while I was standing at the counter waiting, a lady bought a black HP ink cart for $29, which kept me focused on who is ripping off whom.

companies who don't play by the rule should face consequences... after all it is us customers who give them business... not the other way around...
