Don't forget you get a full version copy of Windows XP Professional in the pack as well. That's worth $299 retail, and if you really want to sell it......$130-$140 easy on EBAY. That's what I ended up doing - sold the XP Professional for $130. That brings my TOTAL PACKAGE COST for the processor and motherboard down to only $70. MANY, MANY THANKS to the person who originally broke news of this deal. I was skeptical, but I was able to get in and my new 2.53GHz rig is working just fine!

Oh, you mean the XP Professional with the giant "NOT FOR RESALE" sticker on it? *sigh*

:disgust:

Wow you resold it even though you agreed not to resell it when you bought it?:disgust:
TO everyone who is bitching and moaning here remember that you are not owed ANYTHING. This was a one time good deal and they could kill it at any time due to abuse. I for one am thankful that intle does these deals and hope I get my code. If I don't I will be disappointed but I ain't gonna call and complain to someone who had little power over what occurred.

It is the whinners and the complainers that have made hot deals a pain and something I don't enjoy chasing as much as I used to

The website aludes to this board have IEEE 1394 firewire ports on it..
I don't remember seeing or reading of this on my D845BEPT2... does it have the ports?
just no connection to a card riser?

Mine did come with a 2 port usb 2.0 card to give the unit 6 ports total.
They are all usb 2.0 , right?

ok , i give up on this intel retail deal.
it's been over 2 months now and i haven't received a thing yet!

i contacted intel through the website at least 5 times with no satisfying answer whatsoever, just eh usual: if you`re eligible please be patient blah blah blah

i contacted PC TREASURES : man those people give you different answers everyday!!!
i just called them again about 10 minutes ago they said they`re still receiving the codes and sending them, they also said to me about 2 weeks ago that they can check on the database to see if my name was in there after christamas. today it' s after the new year that they can access the database!!!

this deal would have being cool if it was with no headeaches!!!!

i give up on intel and from today on i will be an AMD person!!

no wonder why everyone at work stays away from intel and suggest nothing other than AMD

for all those that received the codes! ENJOY IT

and for all of us eligible people that didn`t receive it, move on and FORGET ABOUT INTEL!!!!

On the page for the Motherboard specs it shows the Firewire as optional.....it is not on the boards that we got.

all the codes have been sent, yet so have the rejection postcards. if you still have had nothing sent, probably a case of missing mail, misdirected mail, greedy postman, etc. doesnt look to formal, maybe someone else in your house chucked it, sent somewhere else. also, i guy at my work got his code, but he has to wait for something(he didnt remember what) to get back in stock before they will send. could be the case with others. maybe they are waiting to send your code until they get whatever it is back in stock.

I don't think that they are waiting to send registration codes b/c of backorders? I received my code last week and proceded to order my bundle only to find out that the bundle was oos, and will ship approximately in 2 weeks.

Sorry to hear that.. You know how these big corporations prioritize giving away free stuff on the bottom of the list on things that need to be done. Hang in there partner!

Well,
I am very impressed. I have been an AMD fan for a long time, came across this deal and figured I'd give Intel a try. I sent my info in within a week of being able to and never recieved a coupon with my code. I emailed Intel Rewards explaining that I passed all the requirements, mailed my info and never heard back. I called PCT a few times and got different answers each time and that I was going to have a hard time recommending Intel after this. After emailing Intel and waiting a few weeks I got an email saying that I must have not been eligable for some reason but that they had a code for me anyways and I was given a code!

I placed my order which is on a 1-2 week backorder and am just waiting for it to come in. I have to say that I am very impressed with the way Intel handled this and I will have no problems recommending Intel products as long as they keep up this type of customer service.

I bought 1 stick of 512XMSPC3200 from googlegear and it doesn't work with this motherboard in dimm0:(:|
I've already rma'd it once to corsair and they sent me the same stuff and I had the same problem of course. I'm going to rma one more time and hopefully I'll be able to get one that works in dimm0, if not I will have to trade for some pc2700 stuff:(
