Yes there is a free after rebate mouse at BB but i am pretty sure it is a different version. The free after rebate mouse is only the 3 button. This mouse has 5 buttons. I have the 5 button one and am very happy with it. Very good deal imo.

just curious...what does the 1.1 mean in the title description? Is that a newer revised model or older one?

I just got off the phone with an Outpost CSR, he said that the item in question is a Wheel Mouse Optical 1.1, but he said the description lists it as a 5-button customizable mouse. There seems to be a mixup, the price is in line with the Wheel Mouse Optical 1.1 but the description and the picture are of the Intellimouse Optical 1.1. I'm tempted, it looks like this might be a bit of a gamble.

It wouldn't really surprise me if they messed up an entire description.

It seems like the whole website was designed by Forrest Gump. At least it looks like they're cleaning it up a little bit. Previously, there were two different ways to get to the hard drive section and each way would give you entirely different products!

And what's with the "for my home" and "for my business" laptop categories? Not to mention that after you choose that, you have to pick a brand or a clockspeed range! Why not just show me the entire freakin list sorted by brand then by price?!? I don't want to flip through 8+ pages just to browse laptops! :|

Maybe when I go to Fry's tonight I'll look and see if Fry's skus match Outposts. Or maybe I can just look on one of my billion Fry's receipts...

Well I placed the order, they didn't have a MS manufacturer # for me to confirm one way or another, so who knows what I'll be getting. I was assured by the CSR that I will be getting the five-button mouse, here's hoping I don't get hosed. Afterwards, I did find what I thought I was ordering on another page (manufacturer #D58-00026). Both pages are describing the same mouse, but the first one has some... discrepancies on it. Hopefully I get what I asked for, but I'm not holding my breath.

Sweet deal. I remember someone posting a hot deal for this mouse @ $22 about a week and a half ago.

the top of the product page says optical wheel mouse 1.1

i dont believe it has five buttons.

and since it doesnt have five buttons (pic in frys ad doesnt have five buttons), this isnt a steal since this was selling for the past couple weeks for 5 dollars AR at frys.

I know im not supposed to post link to Ebay, so i wont.... also cuz im to lazy to do it. But the Explorers are going for around TOPS $20. So why dont you do a little surfing and get a better mouse for around the same price.

Just received the 2 that I ordered.
Got the 3 Button Optical Wheel Mouse :(

Anybody else get theirs, and should I contact CSR to fight for the 5 button Intellimouse Optical that is pictured and described?

I also see that they raised the price to $24.95 and are out of stock. I have a feeling that a lot of people will be disappointed to find that they purchased the Wheel Mouse Optical instead of the Intellimouse.

Anybody have a saved copy of the website before they updated it to the OOS and 24.95 price? I believe that it used to say MS Wheel Mouse Optical across the top and then it said MS Intellimouse Optical right below that. Now it is the description for the Wheel Mouse Opt. The detailed description for the Intellimouse Opt. and lists package contents as MS WHEEL MOUSE OPTICAL. Thanks

That sucks. Especially because...
I was assured by the CSR that I will be getting the five-button mouse
Those Gumps need to straighten out that page some more, too. It still says 5 buttons.

I was at Fry's yesterday and it looks like Fry's and Outpost sku numbers are the same. I remember the Intellimouse Optical was 3105170 in the store. I forgot what the Wheelmouse Optical was.

This kind of screw up with Outpost doesn't surprise me anymore!

About a month ago I ordered 10 sticks of 256MB DDR from them,
their product description said 32x72-266; I called and their CSR assured me
that they were ECC RAM. What I received was regular 32x64-266 DDR RAM :|

I recieved a reply today. They offered to give me either a $6 credit if I kept the mouse or RMA and credit back my shipping costs. They said they caught some of these orders before they shipped, but I'm not sure if that means they included the mouse that matched the description or sent a notification before they shipped.

so that would be $15 - $6... $9 isn't bad. :)

I got the three button mouse as well (no surprise). I even spoke to the same CSR after I received it, he didn't even apologize for giving me misinformation. I told him that I had received the three button mouse and he just went into the RMA routine without skipping a beat. When I stated that I expected to get what the site advertised and what he had assured me I would get, he said it was not their fault, they had no choice to use the information given to them by Microsoft. LOL! Blame Microsoft, that's original. It was a cock-up, and he didn't have the honesty to say so. I got off the phone and sent in an email explaining the situation, and basically told Outpost to cram it. If I could delete my Outpost account information I would. While a $6 credit would be nice, they didn't offer and I would rather just shop elsewhere now. I admit I had reasons not to expect to get the five button mouse, and I wouldn't have taken the chance on this if not for the assurances of the CSR (Sean? Are you reading this? Way to get a sale! ;)).

I'd call back and ask to speak to Sean. Since he felt he had enough authority to make those assurances maybe he can get the ball rolling on something for you if you are polite about it and tell him you've been getting a hard time. Is anyone else dealing with with?
