DEAD-Out of Stock - Sharp Zaurus for $299 from Sun(only at JavaOne)

Here's the news release...

and here's the disclaimer:
According to my buddy who was at the show today, it is the 5000 (developer model, with 32 MB onboard), instead of the 5500 (general release with 64MB onboard). The version from Sun also includes a 802.11b wireless card, or you can skip it for $99 off.

Not sure if it includes the entire package with AC adapter, cradle, etc. But I'll update this tomorrow after he buys one for me. :-D

edit: It was the full package. But Sun only had 2500 and they are gone. No, I didn't get one, but there sure are a lot of them on eBay today. Bastiches.

my dad picked up one of these, not sure if he wants to keep it.

the wireless card isn't a great deal imo, but for pda itself at $199 (w/o the card) is blazin hot!

just checked ebay... these are goin pretty high!

anyone at JavaOne willing to pick one up for a fellow AT'er?? i'd like to know whats included with the package. prob not interested in the Linksys wireless card to save the $100, but would need the cradle etc.

anyways, thought it would be worth a shot. i saw one of these at CIRCUIT CITY (yes they are out in Retail, at least in Miami!!) last night for $500 and was impressed with it -- not worth $500, but definitely a cool geek toy i would like to have for $200ish. ;-)

so cycloscott, what's it come with??

If by CC do you mean Circuit City? I didn't know these were anywhere near ready for the retail market yet. Superwrat, I'd be interested in your dad's if he decides he doesn't want to keep it. PM me if you find anything out.
