UPDATE: Well, looks like very few have received confirmation of the drives shipping. Of course, my mouse shipped but the burner is still "sent to warehouse". Oh well, looks like another hook, line and cancel from Buy.com.
 
Looks like it burns dvd-r's at 4x even though it says 8x in the discription. It's a re-badged Lite-on LDW-811. I looked for a firmware upgrade to take it to an 812 and didn't see one. Still a great deal though!
 
Good enough as a cheap upgrade for my 2x dvd burner. I couldn't resist getting one since I had a $5 gift certificate and pick up a mx510 mouse that I've been eyeing for a while so that I could get free shipping.
 
Wow, that would make a cheap reader + KProbe scanner, even if you don't use it for burning anything.

Edit: LOL. "List Price: $220". Uhm, sure... what century are they talking about?
 
Wonder if this is a retail package? Also wish they had it in black, but that's nitpicking.

i just read the return policy, is a pain in the butt but again it's $19.30 + $7 shipping bucks(nyc) and another thing has me wondering is really dual layor burning ?

mc00, Welcome to AT. More than likely, older drives (slower than 16X), when they say "dual", they are talking about "dual-format", meaning both DVD+R and DVD-R burning. Most 8X drives are dual-format, but there were quite a number of 4X and slower drives that would only do + or -, but not both.

That is my price for 4 of them.
For some reasons, I have 3 of them and the coupon still works. But.. to be safe, I just get another one. hehe🙂
