(DEAD) OCZ PC3500 256MB CAS2 $45 SHIPPED

Is this gonna work with PC3500 of another brand in a Dual Channel config?

I have Mushkin with similar CAS ratings.

Anyway, i went for it since i am building a friend a new system . . . she can always use 512 MB RAM.

Hey... question guys. Would I rather have 1GB of lower quality RAM (OCZ premier) or 512MB of faster RAM in dual channel?

Personally, I'd MUCH rather have MORE ram.

Unless your O/C is critical - or your RAM is exceptional - you are likely going to be forced to use a 5:4 ratio.

In my case, running my 2.80c at 3.31Ghz and 5:4 ratio (I'd need DDR500+ to get 1:1), I am slightly UNDERclocking my current Mushkin 2:3:3 PC3500.

Of course, i CAN get 433Mhz at 1:1 (even o/c'd to 442Mhz) but I can then only get 3.06 or so Ghz; the extra Mhz of the CPU make up for underclocking the RAM (while tightening the timings).

I figure adding a stick of this RAM on each channel shouldn't make much difference (except to give me 1GB of RAM instead of my current 512MB) 😉

I was busy buying that Buslink 128MB MP3/flash Drive/recorder for $50 when i noticed and then JUMPED on it.

Am hoping you can mix similar RAM of differing brands on Dual Channel (2 - 256MB mushkin PC3500 on slots 1+3 and the 2 - 256MB OCZ PC3500 on Slots 2+4); timings are specc'd identical and i am slightly UNDERCLOCKING my RAM (o/c'd P4 5:4 ratio). . .

if not a friend get it in my new build for her. 😉

EDIT: If spending an extra $150 is a good thing . . . then

. . . the MORAL of this STORY is to ACT QUICKLY.
 
So it was a mistake. I'm glad I didn't hesitate. I guess they will honor it because I haven't gotten a cancellation message.

What I do to solve this is put a reply in the thread. Then I can search by author and I put my handle in.

Mine shipped last night . . . should have it Thursday . . . cheap RAM UPgrade . . . .i finally get to see what 1GB is like. 🙂

But I thought maybe after I posted the deal, and so many people ordered, I

I was a little worried . . . also . . . especially last night after seeing no update on their site . . . i am glad they honored their (likely) error. 🙂

And you did it RIGHT . . order FIRST, THEN post the 'deal'. 😉

Also very nice to post "dead" in the title AFTER it died.
