$.60 per GB, pretty good. Still plenty of scary recent reviews "Worked for 3 weeks, now BIOS does not recognize it"

I went down with TWO Vertex 4's within in 7 months. Both bricked on separate mobo's mind you. They replaced one, the other was a frakkin runaround and still not resolved. I'm too wise for OCZ, nothing but 830's for me.

The reviews do give me pause. I'm just about to replace my main rig and was considering a SSD as a kind of cherry on top. This seemed like a great deal, but I don't want to throw my money down the toilet.

Why risk it on an OCZ? The price isn't worth it only working for 6 months.

I've had an OCZ vertex 2 for like 2 years with no probs whatsoever. The thing that worries me is all the rumours of them going belly up. A 5 yr warranty is pointless if they go under in 1 or 2, unless another company buys them out and honors their warranty just the same. Still trying to decide if I want to pick this up.

Never had an issue with the latest firmware for the Vertex 4.
