DEAD - now $105 --> G. Skill 1.5V DDR-3 1600 Ripjaws - $84/4gb

If you have noticed, the 1333 version of the same thing sells for way more at egg. strange, but who cares 🙂

not again

I found a way to lower prices at newegg... I buy something there... the price will go down within 72 hours.

I got a pair of these on the way....Hopefully they'll play nice with my evga sli board 🙂

Now just gotta get a cpu....Hmm thinking Zeon x3440

I bought two sets of these things for $10 more last month, and I still haven't used them (haven't gotten around to my upgrade). Ahhh well.

With this RAM around, I see no reason whatsoever to get higher voltage kits for 1600MHz or below.

Talk to a customer service rep. They were happy to credit my card $11 when prices lowered a week later after my purchase.

I know. I've done that with two other items I've bought in the past week already. Newegg says they provide no price protection and that they will make this a one-time exception. I'm afraid that I'm way past my "one-time exception."

Newegg also doesn't do refunds on motherboards, just exchanges. They did for my father though when it turned out his motherboard was fine and he didn't need a replacement one.

Never hurts to call.

wonder if this is any better than ocz gold 1600?

IMO yes. While the OCZ Gold DDR3 1600 is CAS 8 and this is CAS 9, the G.Skill only needs 1.5v. I see two 4GB OCZ Gold kits on Newegg. One needs 1.65v, which is the maximum you can normally go on socket 1156, while the other one needs 1.9v. 😱

Never fails looking all around for a good deal on DDR3. Buy something on another forum
and bam! Deals start flying all over the place! lol

Most these memory were around $80 couple months ago. For some reason prices shot up right before xmas. nice to see them coming down again.

I think RAM prices may be coming down in general. Memory I bought 2 weeks ago was down $5 yesterday. Also SSDs seem to be coming down. You can get the OCZ Agility 64GB SSD for $159 AR. That's the lowest I have seen.

Well, I bought a set to tide me over until I RMA my Corsair but if they work well I may keep them. I'm using them on a Asus mATX mobo with a G43 chipset that uses DDR3 and an e8400. It actually only supports 1066 but can OC the memory to 1333 so with these I will have to underclock them.

I hope it posts so I can get into bios and do that??

Popped 4 of these into my P7P55D and they ran flawlessly. FSB overclocked to 200 and doing fine 1600 @ 1.5v, as spec'd. Love 'em.

asked and answered. the computer sales industry has seasonal cycles. xmas season (which extends into january with people buying the stuff they need for what they got), high school graduation season, and back to school season.
